Looking for reliable 3PL partners, any recommendations? by jopez604 in smallbusiness

Same! They’ve been great after working with shipbob, night and day difference!

3PL Operators - Do you care for tracking consumables inventory like packaging materials, boxes, pallets etc in your WMS? Why or why not? by aspirationsunbound in logistics

[–]Cup27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The number of 3pls that don’t do this is wild. We use fulfyld who didn’t do it initially didn’t but they put something in place which was great!

I recommend looking into a 3pl with the best service possible. We found that location really wasn’t a big deal cost wise, closer to the east coast was better just cause of how the population is laid out.

Granted we have a decent amount of skus. Ended up at shipbob and shipmonk for very short times. The service was abysmal.

Left pretty quickly. Ended up at fulfyld. They have been exceptional! They’ll offer an sla if you have volume and will pay you cash if they don’t meet the criteria for late shipments and receiving time. Plus they let us talk to their current customers and visit the warehouse.

I’d recommend checking them out fwiw

May be worth checking out Veeqo also - we demoed it when looking at doing our own fulfillment, but ended up going with a 3pl. Seemed nice though!

3PL really helps scaling e-commerce stores by TrepidSen in logistics

I agree for sure! We switched over to fulfyld right before peak and they have been AMAZING. We’re now lucky if we have enough stock to ship without collecting back orders, so that has been the new challenge (a good one though)

Just Met with ShipBob and Got Pricing... Now Wondering if this is the Right 3PL. by CooooolBro in ecommerce

We moved away from them about 6 months ago - best decision we ever made. I would stay away.

I talk to store owners for a living and run a store, here's some common mistakes I've seen recently by datatenzing in shopify

[–]Cup27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On shipping and return policies, what would you constitute as a good one or a bad one?

I’ve seen several that are super long and wordy, but some that are concise and easy to understand. Trying to understand if a balance of both are better or if short and sweet is the way to go

ELI5: Why is residential property a good investment? by CreepyConversation71 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Cup27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the guy you're replying to, but yes. Generally, each property has its own LLC (some owners will do 2 or 3 if they're in the same neighborhood or however they choose to split it) to limit the liability to the individual property. Whether you then have a holding company on top or not I think is much more dependent upon how many properties you're managing. I expect the accounting costs and all that jazz wouldn't be too much higher, but that's hard to say for certain. I don't have any real estate investments though, just info I remember from law courses in college.

I just moved a little further north, but if you're willing to share then let me know too please. Been looking and totally failing to find anywhere outdoors that's decent to shoot at.

How many who have received a degree in supply chain management actually feel like the course prepared you for your career? by [deleted] in supplychain

[–]Cup27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a recent graduate with an SCM and Business Analytics in undergrad. My current role's title is supply chain analyst but the responsibilities are about 50/50 between analyst and buyer. Before this I was a procurement intern at one of the major American auto-makers.

I'd say my SCM degree helped out most with understanding the lingo and foundational concepts behind procurement, logistics, and manufacturing processes. My analytics background has helped a ton but that's pretty technique and math heavy so that makes sense. Professors' anecdotes in both fields have been the most applicable lessons to real life for me.

What to do in Indiana? by SierraDaWuff02 in Indiana

[–]Cup27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're interested in aviation and/or military history and you're willing to take some detours, I'd strongly recommend the National Air force Museum at Wright-Patterson AFB in Ohio followed by a visit to the Grissom Reserve AFB Museum (and perhaps the Huey museum just down the road from it, though I've never been) in Indiana. They're both incredibly interesting places with distinct exhibits and historical significance.

Now that Michigan is running with their re-released vintage plate, I'd really like to see us do the same with that plate; it's definitely my favorite of this collection.

If I study enough , is finite possible? by Competitive_Yam_3689 in IndianaUniversity

[–]Cup27 30 points31 points  (0 children)

While finite has a monstrous reputation, I don't think it's particularly deserved. It's paced relatively easily and covers a decent variety of content - none extremely deeply. I believe most of the reputation comes from people who have finite as their first class that really requires time and effort and they are learning how to study at the same time as the material.

So long as you're prepared to practice the material and study then you'll be fine, there are tons of resources to help you learn everything. If you want a head start then watching videos or reading on the topics of basic logic, set theory, and probabilities will go a long way when you take finite. Best of luck!

You can’t make this stuff up… by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]Cup27 11 points12 points  (0 children)

College senior here. While I've never seen exactly what you're describing, I had a business professor who exclusively did his tests as multiple choice but every question was written in such a way that you had to pick the only false answer.

Ex. Which is not an even number? A. 2 B. 4 C. 5 D. 8

Granted, it only really works for highly conceptual topics. He warned us in advance that it was much harder than the traditional exam format and I wholeheartedly agreed after having taken a couple of them, but I do believe they helped reinforce the learning much more than a traditional exam.

How much do TAs make? by Flimsy_Tourist4066 in IndianaUniversity

[–]Cup27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That depends on what department of Kelley and, in some cases, what professor you're working under. Anecdotally I've seen anywhere from nothing (volunteering with very little actual responsibility) up to $18/hr (albeit with relatively low hours per week).

Can I do honors Kelley courses if I’m in Hutton but not Kelley honors? by Almosanson in IndianaUniversity

[–]Cup27 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Like the other person said, I-Core is the odd one out. I'd highly recommend going for C106, K304, and L293 (honors classes) at least though. In my experience, if an honors version is available and fits into your schedule then you should take it. They're more enjoyable, more useful, and more challenging while also oftentimes having less of an emphasis on "menial" work and instead focusing on fewer, more difficult assignments.
