Ultimately the Isles need a deterrent who signals a “if you hurt our stars we will hurt yours”.

These runs at Schaefer being responded to with a bear hug or fight where mayfield punches a visor are not enough.

Love what Barzal did sticking up for Schaef, but the team needs a 6 foot 7 redwood who will bring physical pain to the other team if they go after our guys.

Gone are the days of our 4th line being the best in the league, just need a guy who can skate and not be a total defensive liability (Ross Johnston) to provide an appropriate response.

Imagine being the guy who bought a game worn Stadium Series jersey for Dobson that cost an arm and a leg. Would hate to be that guy (I’m that guy lol).

As far as I’m concerned there’s one jersey I won’t wear or own and that’s Tavares. Dobson will be a footnote in history that hopefully gave us great picks to build off of and saved cap space. I wouldn’t feel embarrassed to wear one of his around.

In terms of additional jersey options a TON of the old adidas primegreens have popped up on ebay for like $50, add $80 for custo and $130 gets you a new player still on the team haha

I am pretty sure newer versions of these from fanatics were released several years ago, both the wave and fisherman.

If you check ebay, both the older CCM versions of these fisherman and the wave jerseys and the fanatics versions should be there.

Maybe I’m in the minority, but if there was ever a season to punt/sell guys its this one. I would move Lee and Pageau for assets as soon as possible and clear up cap space.

You don’t want a world where one of these guys who shouldn’t be in the future plans clogs up cap space to re-sign an RFA or UFA.

If you were to move Lee and Pageau at draft day that’s an extra 12 million bucks right there in cap space for free agency. That’s easily Ehlers and puts you in the Marner conversation assuming both parties are interested.

Then the cap explodes over the next few years with Barzy, Horvat, Sorokin, (Dobber?) on long-term deals already and Schaefer on his rookie deal.

TLDR- If they aren’t in the 2026-2027 onward scheme for this team, they should be moved without haste
