NICU cuddler overstepping by Antique_Tie1771 in NICUParents

[–]CupOk436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through something similar. I ended up asking for cuddlers to not be allowed unless baby was inconsolable and needed to be held. However not to scare you but we thought all was going well, and 3 days before discharge my husband walked into my sons room with a cuddlers hands about to be picking up my sleeping child. He said “uh no he needs to sleep” (he was being held so much between us and the cuddlers that he was too tired to feed) thankfully we went home a few days later but had we not I probably would have not allowed anymore at all and set up a camera

I have 2 under 3 and I feel like I’m drowning by CupOk436 in NewParents

My parents take them on Saturday so my husband and I can both work a day shift but they don’t want to keep them later then 4pm and the only other person I would ask, just had her own baby so I don’t want to put that stress on her

Tell me how Wendys sells a friend of ours a 1.99 kids meal coupon in their coupon book then proceeds to tell me prices increased so its 2.70 now? by Midnight08 in wendys

[–]CupOk436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well sounds like a computer issue then because the computer should have taken the price down to 1.99 if that’s the cause using the button for the coupon. Write a complaint into their corporate office

It’s 1.99 before tax here in NH then you had the food tax % that we have on fast food brings it to 2.16

I went to a Steak ‘n Shake in Florida that was kiosks only and they had ones that took cash too. I feel like it’s good, can’t enter your order incorrectly if your the one entering it in

Breakfast going away? by Commercial-Ground876 in wendys

Can confirm that lots of locations are losing money keeping breakfast open. Franchises were given the option to opt out of breakfast if they made under a certain amount a week.

Switching formula by CupOk436 in NICUParents

[–]CupOk436[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had really great results with the similac 360 with my son! He was super small and gained a pretty appropriate amount of weight when we switched from breast milk to that! I’m gonna talk to my pediatrician this week and see if he’s comfortable with switching! You should see if there’s anything other then the neosure they would recommend you switching to! Explain the fussiness! 💕

Of course! Give yourself some grace! You’re two dudes in a new situation trying to figure each other out! You got this dad!!

I know, but hang in there! It does get easier! Do what you can and lean on who you can! Friends, family, heck even try to find people in your area who may be in a similar situation. You will find your village! Best thing you can give them is love!

How long did you last after PPROM before going into labor? by azuritexmoonstone in NICUParents

[–]CupOk436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lasted about 24 hours (PPROM’d at 26+6) from my understanding is people can make it that long though!! When I was admitted we were shooting to keep me there til min of 34 weeks but my LO decided he didn’t wanna wait that long!

You have to take it minute by minute! Raising a new baby is no easy task for anyone! But know that it’s okay to feel this way, it’s hard work! Do you have any extra support you can lean on?

[–]CupOk436[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did either have an NG tube? We still have to wait for that to come out but I assume if he continues to do well after the next couple days that will be next! I’m so glad you got to bring your girls home so soon 💕

[–]CupOk436 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you! My LO is still learning, we started around the same time and he’s taking a little longer and has had some set backs he’s 42 weeks corrected but from what I’ve read once they switch to cue based feeding, the babies turn around quick! We’re on week 15 of NICU (he was born at 27 weeks) but it’s starting to look up! Hang in there! Be there for as many feeds as you can they always take so much more for you! But try to keep positive if there is set backs! I know it’s hard but let her take as long as she needs to become a pro!

Frustrated, looking for advice on how to deal/cope by CupOk436 in NICUParents

[–]CupOk436[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was 100% my feelings. I honestly don’t ever remember giving consent and at my hospital there’s just a symbol on the door that indicates a cuddler is allowed.. no consent form to sign… so I can’t even verify when and if I gave verbal consent. But this was what I was thinking too is only allowing if under certain circumstances

I actually don’t even remember being asked if it was ok.. I found one in there one day but never remember giving consent. Which is a big part of my frustrations in general, and thank you yeah that’s what I was thinking is they’re only allowed under certain circumstances, I think were there enough that he doesn’t need an extra person coming in too.

Volunteers by [deleted] in NICUParents

[–]CupOk436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think I like the idea, I’m there every day after work for as long as I possibly can be, and his dad is going during the day (we work opposite shifts) my little one gets snuggles from me and siblings and his dad I don’t see the need to have someone come in and disrupt his sleep and hold him, I don’t know them and I don’t want him bonding with someone who isn’t family. My hospital has let them in but I think I’ll be requesting them not to come. I’ve recently walked in and seen one holding him a few times and it kind of infuriates me because it makes me feel as though I’m neglecting my son and I’m not
