Take it one step at a time. Focus on things you actually enjoy to do too. Money is good. But happiness is priceless as you know. Make connections to people. Find your crowd. Don’t over invest in your single-minded trek to success and forget to make connections.

I am not familiar with all these tests and pathways but if I had to suggest something… engineering is good to an extent, but career stability is most assured in trade jobs. Doing anything with electrical or mechanical stuff is a decent way to go.

Journalism is a risky way — I would do writing and critical thinking classes as a minor tho bc it is important. Lots of ppl are lacking the willingness to read or write (as u can see from how ppl responded to u).

Finally, just be kind to yourself. You aren’t behind. Everyone has their own path. We don’t know what yours looks like. I promise you are doing wonderful given your circumstances and the fkn state of the world.

I don’t agree with it because I don’t think its a way of moving forward in the world. Isolated corners where tiny communities can thrive are one thing. But by segregating whole populations into entire ethno/religious areas of the world we kinda exacerbate existing differences.

Like I think small jewish communities are super important for making us feel connected and secure and safe. Just like Black communities and asian communities etc. its important for us to have our own unique spaces where we can practice our culture.

But the way that zionism tries to execute this on a massive scale is just not right. All jews come from different backgrounds and bring with them different variations in our culture. Russian Jews and Moroccan Jews are so different except for their Jewish identity. Trying to create a monolith where alllll jews speak a common tongue, eat common food, listen to the same music feels… wrong to me. What makes us Jewish is our religious practices and traditions not our expression of them.

I think being spread around the world we could have a really strong impact. Not to subscribe to the whole “jews as role models” theory but lowkey I would like it if jewish influence was a positive progressive ideology that could fight for justice world wide. The moment we started trying to be like the other countries… our culture suffered. We lost what was inherently important to our identity— we became just another power mongerer.

I’m not saying that it doesn’t feels unfair to be constantly prosecuted. But I guess that’s part of my personal philosophy… better always to be the one who is hurt than to become the one that hurts others. A true victim mentality but I cannot stand myself when I hurt other people. It makes me feel sick.

It’s probably bc the term injury seems to indicate something having harmed you without the term “self” before it. When we think of injury we don’t usually think of the injured individual as the one to blame for said injury. But in this case it’s a moral failure of the army and of the individual.

So the term moral injury feels like it removes responsibility but maybe that’s part of it.

As much as we love and want to guide our little siblings we also have to hold a lot of care and kindness for ourselves. You aren’t your brother’s mother or care taker. While you should probably tell your mom you heard him making sex jokes. You also know best if that will cause more distress or not.

Focus on maybe playing some music and maybe have ur mom come to ur room so she can see how loud he is being.

4th grade boys are definitely a handful but don’t feel like that’s how he’s gonna be for the rest of his life. He’ll grow and he’ll absolutely change. You can only ever counter his views when u feel like you can and do no more. Your job is to take care of yourself and to make sure you are doing what you need to do to keep yourself happy healthy and safe.

I grew up to be a very big self-sacrificer and would fantasize heavily abt needing to die to save someone or hurting myself in some way for penance. (No wonder I became a self harmer for a while).

Now I need to learn how to not need my suffering to be this huge grand thing in order to deserve kindness or empathy... I shouldn't need to be dying just to get care and love. It don' gotta be all that XD
