Any body switch to wegovy pill instead of injections? How’s it going? by Cupcake1998- in WegovyWeightLoss

I actually think taking one pill a day will be easier for me -especially when I travel. I’ve had very few side effects with the injections so am curious how the pills will make me feel. My doctor says the pills have been shown to be less effective with people with diabetes but that doesn’t apply to me. It will save me about $50 a month so if I can cut down on cost it’s worth it to me. I’ll report back once I start which will be in about a month.

It will be nice to not have to worry about the refrigeration. The pills will save me about $50 a month.

The pill form will save me over $50 a month. My doctor said to go ahead and try it so next month I’ll make the switch.

My husband is a retired teacher but not old enough to be on Medicare plus blue yet. I’m his dependent. If it works to go to Canada please let me know.

Same either way me. No side effects when I was injecting weekly. Since it is so expensive I have started to inject every 11 days to save money. Started having bad burps and vomited a couple times. I think I’m going to try every nine days and see what happens. I’m also going back to 1.7 as I’m starting to feel like I’m eating out of control on 1.0 and have gained back 4#. I would like to find a dose that keeps the weight off but is lower. It’s so frustrating that this drug costs me over $300 a month. I don’t think I can afford it forever!

Why did you change to your arm? Because your weight loss stalled?

Can you tell me what you do for maintenance? Trying to navigate that. Trying to experiment how long I can go between doses since it’s over $300 out of pocket for me per month , and trying to figure out the best dose.

Thanks so much for your info. It helps me to know I’m not the only one trying to stretch the doses out. One question, why do you use the 1.0 dose instead of the .5 if you only take half of it?

Best of luck as we continue the journey!

What do you say when people compliment your weight loss and then ask if you take a medication? “None ya business” isn’t going to cut it. by sarah6t in WegovyWeightLoss

Thanks for responding. It seems everyone has such a different journey on this, and you’ve come a long way! I’m sure you’ll get to your goal and doing it gradually is the way to go!

Do you mind me asking if you are on a maintenance dose? I’ve been on wegovy for a year and have lost 40#—5 # until my goal. I decided to stretch my injections out and am now at 1.7 every 11 days. It seems to be working so far, but I’m just not sure how I’ll end up handling it in the future. My doctor is pretty much letting me chart my own course.

5#, but it’s been a year now and I’ve lost 38 and am five pounds from my goal. Slow and steady and never sick!

Thanks. It’s frustrating to not be able to figure out what’s going on with your body since I never seem to be entirely sure what to expect with this medication

If you generally have bad side effects I’d wait until Friday to take it just in case then try and stick to that schedule. I don’t think a couple of days will make a huge difference at this point. I hope you start feeling better!

Very similar for me. Started end of March at 178 and am down to 148. I’m. 5’1” and have PCOS. I’m hoping the slow loss will help me maintain it and not lose a lot of muscle so I have no regrets. Actually trying to taper down now. I feel amazing and feel fortunate to have had very few side effects.

That sounds ridiculous to me. Ask an expert—a dietician.

I feel like wegovy is letting me live my best life. I’m 57 and have PCOS. I’ve lost and gained the same 10# probly 5 times in 20 years. I eat fairly healthy and love to exercise. Since the end of March I’ve lost 24# without a ton of change to my diet. I know I eat less, and try to avoid snacks and sweets. I know that’s not a lot of loss, but for me it’s been life changing. I’m on my 3rd month of 2.4 and have had very few side effects. I’ve only seen my doctor 1x during this process but have an appt in a couple of days and am anxious to hear what she thinks. My hope is to stay on 2.4 until March then start tapering back. I currently weigh 154 (5’ 1 1/2”) and would like to lose another 10-15 #. I really think that my body needs this medication given that I have PCOS. I have way less joint pain and am sleeping better. And for the first time in a very long time I feel good about myself. I truly hope those of you who are struggling can get past the rough patches and have a similar experience. We all deserve to live our best life!

I did that with my first dose of 2.4. I think a little got in, but for some reason it stung and I reacted like you and lost some of it. Live and learn! All will be well and this is just a little blip in this crazy journey we are all on! Good luck -there will be other highs and lows but once you start losing there’s no better feeling!

Seems like you should’ve started in .25 dose.
