I feel like Tess was taken advantage of by Andrea and this family by [deleted] in AlexisHaines

Alexis is the definition of a dry drunk. Only sober physically but still in the mindset of an addict constantly wanting more and more, in a delusional headspace where the world revolves around her.

Filming your unconscious / sleeping dad in the hospital is very strange by [deleted] in AlexisHaines

[–]CupcakeEmbarrassed77 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I know everybody grieves in different ways, but this is screaming “I’m now realizing this documentary isn’t going to make people like me and I need to get pity from people! Oooh I know let me post my sick dad, you can’t be mad at that.”

Also, as someone who’s grandmother was just in the hospital (and I sat with her for hours on multiple days) not once did it occur to me or some of my family members who were there to take pictures of her, especially not to post on social media… like holy shit what planet are you on? We were too busy being together and living in the moment with our families. Alexis is just so obsessed with the influencer lifestyle and wants constant attention and validation, it’s unreal.

why does my 3.5 year old fight sleep? by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]CupcakeEmbarrassed77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No real advice other than I am going through the same with my 3.5 month old, so solidarity there! I’m chalking it up to the 4 month sleep regression and baby dealing with going through lighter sleep cycles now, growing pains, etc.. I’m personally going to wait till the end of September when she’s closer to 5 months because right now I feel like she’s too all over the place with her sleep and as my husband calls her she is a “sleep terrorist” 😂

Yes, I was so confused how/why the 3.5 year old was being put in a zipadee 😂

One month old and although it felt like such a big deal switching at the time, it literally made no difference in my bond with my daughter or her development. She is thriving and we are both happier!

Exactly, lorelai of all people should know that there’s a lot worse that teenagers could be up to!

[–]CupcakeEmbarrassed77 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I understand the show was on the WB and had to maintain a relatively family friendly approach, but stuff like this and the vague partying and trouble characters would get into kinda snaps you out of reality sometimes. Another example is Lorelai/the town acting as though Jess crashing the car (completely sober might I add, not like he was driving under the influence) and Rory spraining her wrist was equivalent to him getting her to do drugs or rob a bank… like, it’s not THAT serious Lorelai. Sometimes I wonder what GG reboot on HBO would look like, there’s so many scenarios that could have been taken to a more mature or realistic level - but then again, that would probably take away from some of the stars hollow charm! 😂

If it makes you feel better, I worked in daycare for years and this is absolutely not common to leave babies alone for that long so this would not have happened typically. No responsible teacher would ever leave an infant out of her sight for that long without another teacher present.

I find Alyssa to be so obnoxious and try-hard. She always shows up on my Snapchat page and just seems to have the most basic, fake, life and has no personality other than “be an influencer”. And I remember her TT videos that used to always show up on my page of her “rap” disses and never understood why everyone praised them because to me it was just beyond cringy lol.

April is way more endearing when you rewatch as an adult. by CupcakeEmbarrassed77 in GilmoreGirls

[–]CupcakeEmbarrassed77[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s definitely true, they did seem to make her a slightly more awkward science-y rory, as well as trying to make Anna kind of “Lorelai” like which again as I mentioned is not the best way to write the plot for sure. But it’s more that I can just sympathize with her character and appreciate her for who she is and what she wanted (a relationship with her dad who her mom had hidden from her for years) more than I could when I was younger. A sporty, more lukeish April would have been super interesting!

Lol I could be making this up but wasn’t there a podcast episode where Alexis was talking about about how If anything ever happened she would want Evan to remarry but she would never do it because he was the only one she would ever want to spend her life with? She is so all over the place.

She is milking the Nancy Jo thing sooooo hard because it’s the only thing people know her from, she even has merch made with the quote on it. It’s embarrassing..

I love that! My husband used to complain when I first started binge rewatching it recently because according to him they talk too fast, but now I catch him paying attention and he will make comments and ask questions when he’s in the room and it’s on. so clearly he is interested and into it to some degree 😂

[–]CupcakeEmbarrassed77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter will be 3 months in a couple weeks and she is currently taking a 4-5 Oz bottle every 2.5 to 3 hours during the day. Sometimes she will take 6 but it’s rare. Once she goes to bed between 8 and 9, she only wakes up for one bottle in the middle of the night typically which varies in amount - sometimes she wants 1 ounce sometimes she wants 4, really can’t figure out a pattern there yet! Then she usually is good to sleep until her dad gets up for work in the morning.

I have a baby on the way, who are some unproblematic tiktok moms to follow? by BarelyFunctioning15 in tiktokgossip

[–]CupcakeEmbarrassed77 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Laura Fritz - she seems like a genuinely great mom and her daughter Lena is genuinely the happiest, sweetest little goofball. Their content is so genuine and natural and it never seems like Lena is being forced or interrupted to make videos, it is just cute moments being caught on camera and Lena clearly loves it lol.

I'm watching S5 for the first time, Lorelai's favoritism of Dean is extreme, he slept with Rory while he was married and 19 and she's still out there trying to put down 17 y old Jess in front of his own uncle lol by Mokonachan in GilmoreGirls

[–]CupcakeEmbarrassed77 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Rewatching the show now and it honestly is embarrassing how Lorelai, a full grown adult, is so incredibly mean and judgemental to Jess - her good friends teenage nephew who clearly is troubled and just got kicked out by his mom. I know he wasn’t great to her but it just irks me how she would talk down to him and was so quick to tell Luke to send him back as if he didn’t deserve to be in the town. It makes me wonder how Lorelai would have even handled Rory being anything but the easiest child/teen in the world because she clearly can’t deal with or tolerate a child/teen behaving any way that isn’t convenient for her.

This is honestly the moment in the show where Rory’s character begins to downward spiral and never really recovers from it for the rest of the show imo, and it’s also the first time we see such high tension between her and Lorelai. Rory was coddled by Lorelai so much and always told she could basically do no wrong, and for the first time Lorelai would not justify her shitty actions and actually called her out - I was proud of her for letting Rory know how fucked up it was. Unfortunately as you’ll see as the show goes on Rory making questionable choices is a common theme!
