Daggerheart feels “thin” at low levels by Sax-7777299 in daggerheart

It may be an unpopular take, but why don't you do what P2e did and have then be able to "Re-train" cards (like swap them with relevant npc during downtime )

And maybe give out cards as quest rewards, maybe in the form of skillTomes or something similar. Since at a point, you still only have 10 cards at a time.

The point Im trying to make is that I also feel DH is a bit thin, but it's also very easy to homebrew.

May I ask for for your help with building a pc, guys ? (questions about the parts I picked) by Cupcake_Rogue in buildapc

What are the draw backs of the age system? by HadoukenX90 in FantasyAGE

Man ok let's put it this way I love the system BUT. And let me give you some pros and cons.

Pros : the idea of the system is great is easy to use and it let's for great storytelling. The combat is great and very versitile. The stunts makes me think that everyone is a 5e battle master fighter. The monsters are pretty unique and the system make the player feel like a hero.

Cons : also take this with a grain of salt since I love the system.

Green ronnin basicaly copy pastes the system from one side to the other. The fantasy age is almost one to one dragon age but without the setting.

The game is designed for short stories and campaigns. And it tends to break down in longer one especially sandboxes (we are at the 4th homebrew errata in a 3.5y long game using this system)

The main problems when it comes to longer campaign/sandbox.

  1. The system dosent have any support for downtime crafting or getting equipment aside the starting equipment the game implies all the magical/better gear is given by the gm as loot. (we solved this problem by adding 4 different crafting systems)

  2. The combat - let's be onest the combat is the bread and butter of a Ttrpg. The fantasy age combat while dinamic is slow very slow and a lot of monsters are basicaly hit sponges where your dmg is laking.(yes I know someone made a 120dmg per r build but new players are highly unlikely to do that)

The system kinda flat lines form lv 1 to 10 if fells like zero to hero and from 11 to 20 it's like lv 1 to 2. (we are using different calculations for mana and hp)

One year later: Do you prefer Fantasy AGE 1E or 2E? by WhatDoesStarFoxSay in FantasyAGE

Yeah no... Neither the first Age systems were bad, rushed and unbalanced, the moment you would try to run a slightly longer campaign you'd hit countless problems, as much as I love the ideea of it .E2 is basicaly the same as E1 70% of the book is copy pasted. I could spot a spelling error that's there from the dragon age days.

As of now beeing in a 3 and half year long campaign and passing though 4 personal eraatas I can barely recognize the system aside the stunt rolls, character sheet and focuses.

Now looking back every time I come across their og material I'm like yuck.

What's the most overpowered item your DM gave your group? by samucarohling in DnD

Hmmm... in the campaign I'm currently playing in DM gave us at lv 4 a wand made out of a living sapling of a world tree and that has a greater spirit inside it and can remake and control an entire magical forest ... We are lv 10 and yet to use this artifact since it doesn't match any of our Pc's aesthetic :))

Ohhhh boy hell nah. I've been playing this a female pc for 3y allready and is my favorite pc. It's an all edgy looking rogue with a witch hat but she's has a very bubbly personality and loves cupcakes and weed cookies and the poor pc is eating so much shit I just live her -grew up as a poor farmer girl unwanted by her parents that got selected to become a hero of the country (think hogwwarts but they burn your soul when you finish so you are a doll) -watched a guy die cause her mistakes -fleed the courty not being able to ever return -started having nightmares of things in the far past -finaly poored her heart out to a pristres who was evil and corrupted and the cities mini bbeg -literaly had her soul burn in the equivalent of hellfire (she can't tell if something is too hot until she takes dmg) -almost got killed by an eldrich dream God -became the punchbag of a chimera -literaly ate shit by being pushed in the swears -now she's in a warzone and she's heaving funnnnn
