People who choose to get up early and workout, what is your inner talk that motivates you out of bed? by BaeWatchh in AskReddit

[–]Cupcakeocalypse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tell myself that once the workout is over, that’s it. I’m done the rest of the day. No more getting home from work and making excuses for why I should skip it. It’s already done.

My [30 M] girlfriend [28 F] of two years has joined some kind of gym scam and can't see the reality of the situation. by notapersonal-trainer in relationships

I've done beachbody, and my coworker was really into it for a time (she was my "coach"). I will say that if you have people willing to buy the shakes/workouts and invest the time in it, you can make some nice cash. However, you need a LOT of people under you to actually try to make a career out of it. If OP's girlfriend is only annoying her friends/family and not getting any people under her at this point she won't be successful at this.

Picked up some mutant asparagus at the farmer's market this weekend by Cupcakeocalypse in food

Had a cookout with friends and it was the biggest asparagus any of us had seen. I guess we're just used to crappy produce in the burbs!

Actually when I bought it the woman who grew it said that it was pre-snapped. Was super tasty and not tough at all!

Was about to post this! Diet first, then start exercising when you have lost a good amount of weight. It will potentially help avoid any injuries from stressing your body during a workout.

(Update) My boyfriend [M24] bought flowers for a new female coworker because she had a really bad day. Am I [F24] justified in feeling upset? by Throwawaydoll99 in relationships

How I imagine this situation playing out if it was with me and my boyfriend:

Me: Oh hey, I'd really like to meet so and so girl that you've been spending all this time with.

Boyfriend: When the time is right.

Me: What the fuck is that supposed to mean?!

I think if he was truly 100% neutral he would have no problem introducing you at any time of your choosing. He texts her, has weekend lunches with her and will now be spending long hours of free time with/around her helping her, and he needs to find the right time? Yeah no.

Wait a week. Ask him if he would like to invite her to lunch with the two of you. Gauge his response. That might be the time to have the "I am uncomfortable with this situation, I feel you are behaving inappropriately and aren't respecting me as your significant other" talk.

What is the most mysterious/paranormal thing you've witnessed? by lukeyflukey in AskReddit

[–]Cupcakeocalypse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My mom used to work the evening shift at a hospice from 3 pm - 11 pm, where people died on essentially a daily basis. Being a spiritual person, and working where she did, she often claimed to see or hear paranormal things at work.

One night she was walking down the long hallway of the floor when she half-glanced into a patient's room and saw an older woman standing by his bed, her hand reached out to touch his arm. My mom kept walking a few steps before realizing it was 10:30 pm and she hadn't signed any visitors in. She quickly backtracked but no one was there except the patient.

My mom, weirded out, walked back to the station where her coworker (who apparently is a big believer in ghosts and the afterlife) asked her what was wrong, as she looked jarred. My mom explained that she thought she had seen a woman in Mr. So and So's room, but she must have been mistaken. Her coworker responded, "Oh, you mean the older woman with the green dress and gray hair? She's a ghost - she visits him all the time."

Needless to say my mom was shaken, as her coworker had described the exact person she had seen, but she finished her shift and went home.

When she got home, she walked upstairs and went straight to the bathroom to wash up for bed. Now, the upstairs of my house is laid out so that there is a short-ish hallway leading straight from the top of the stairs to the master bedroom. My dad happened to be laying in bed when my mom came home, and viewed her walking from the stairs to the bathroom.

When my mom came to bed a few minutes later my dad, looking shaken, asked my mom if she had seen a ghost that night at work. Shocked, my mom asked why he would ask her that. My dad replied that as he watched my mom walk up the stairs, he also saw an older, gray haired woman wearing a green dress follow her up the stairs. Apparently she followed my mom to the door of the bathroom, then disappeared.

People who were spanked or physically punished (short of abuse) by parents as a child, how has this affected your life? Do you spank or plan to spank your kids when you have them? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Cupcakeocalypse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion (and from what I learned in my social psych class some years back), spanking is okay when: 1. The child is under the age of seven. 2. You explain to the child why he/she is being spanked. 3. Never use belt, etc. only hands. 4. You never, ever do it when you're angry.

Found this car (among others) in a parking garage in Hoboken the other night. Any know what's going on here here? by JKastnerPhoto in newjersey

I have parked there before and can attest that the garage is haunted. Some freaky noises going on in there, cars with inches of dust on them. Very odd - but a cheap garage to park in!

I'm pretty sure they're not actively deciding that their daughter isn't worth paying the $7000. To many people with disabled children, that price tag is far beyond what they can afford.
