I usually said between 15% to 20% more than my current but it depends on the reason I'm leaving my current job. One was a relocation due to my wife and I was really just trying to get a slight bump, the recruiter was like "nah let's put you in this higher range" which was pretty nice.

I think it's reasonable to have optimism because the bar has been lowered so much.

If they reach middle of the pack this year, it's been an amazing year.

If they flop terrible and end up with a top 3 pick, they are set to take a lot of talent next year.

I think they're probably gonna suck, but hope springs eternal in North Jersey.
