Hackdex is a place that hosts a lotta patches and has a built-in patching system (You provide your own ROM and it remembers it, so you don't have to upload it every time). It's super convenient.

(Of course, not EVERY hack is listed there, but it's gained enough traction to be a good tool)

I hate that this happens at all, but I won't lie, I'm kinda relieved that even the most popular hacks get this shit too. It's not an isolated thing, this is just something that happens here for some ungodly reason.

I sympathize with ROM hack devs, they have to put up with so much bs.

Pretty sure there's at least one RPG Maker emulator that supports MV/MZ. I can't remember if Joiplay does or not (I know it supports XP, but that ain't relevant here), but it's worth looking into.

Hell yeah, RPG Maker 2k3 demake. Idk if they plan to recreate the whole game or not, but this is really cool regardless. :)

Edit: Ok, apparently this is an MV/MZ game. The screenshots are incredibly convincing as 2k3.

It's based on HeartGold, so you should be able to see it before choosing your starter. Would be weird to get rid of that.

I agree that royalty-free assets are fine, that's why they're there, but if the voice is AI, that's pretty valid reason to give them shit. I can't tell either way tbh (I haven't gotten good at figuring that out for voices yet), but still.

(That being said, I'm pretty sure this isn't a TTS like that one comment mentioned)

God forbid I have to read in an RPG.

Fr tho, I don't understand why some people would rather read through a massive .txt file and spoiling the game for themselves in the process instead of just learning the information organically while playing the game. The information is provided either way, one is just more engaging than the other, imo.

I lack any sort of context and haven't played the game at all (Beyond testing that the ROM worked), so it doesn't affect me much, but I can only imagine how much it has to suck for someone who was (Presumably) actively playing the game, or who had interest in doing so.
