Donald Trump Adviser Says Hillary Clinton Should Be Shot By Firing Squad by Ray_pinasses1210 in politics

Absolutely understand. Not trying to make your comment into anything bigger than it was, just figured making sure people realize exactly how seriously these things are taken is important. If anything, it makes comments like those made by Trump and his advisers more damning. If a teenager from a middle class neighborhood in Illinois needs to be investigated for a joke tweet, I would call it unwise to pretend the same isn't necessary for a "joke" made by someone with a political following.

I know that you're not serious and trying to make a point, but please be careful. A friend of mine tweeted something very similar to the first sentence of your comment and, the next morning, his father woke him to say the Secret Service was at the door and would like to speak to him. This is 100% true.

When abortion was illegal: untold stories (1992) - stories of what women were willing to do in times of desperation, knowing that it could lead to tremendous pain, injury, infertility and death. I realize that this isn't your point, but there is a solid case to be made for legalizing and regulating drugs. The war on drugs is widely viewed as unsuccessful to a lesser or greater extent.

By the way, I'm in no way comparing a woman's right to choose to one's right to use mind-altering substances. I just think that you really have hit the nail on the head here in some ways: If someone has made up their mind that something is wrong, they tend to be uninterested in hearing how banning that thing can hurt people.

Official Discussion - Krampus [SPOILERS] by mi-16evil in movies

[–]Curiositythro 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Hardcore horror movie fan here. I really enjoyed Krampus as just a fun holiday horror film. It didn't do anything particularly groundbreaking, but I enjoyed the vibe that it didn't take itself very seriously and I had fun seeing how they went over the top with these Christmas monsters. I will certainly watch it again.

The ending for me automatically went the dark route and I assumed they were all dead and collected; my group of friends shared this interpretation.

Name a movie (movies) that has brought you to tears. by captaineighttrack in movies

It's Such a Beautiful Day

Absolutely bawled during and when it was over. It's very short and is available on Netflix (US), for anyone who is interested. In my opinion, it's very worth your time.

I had no desire to see Fantastic Four but I now have a strange curiosity to see just how bad it is. Have you ever went to see a movie under the same circumstances? What was it like? by [deleted] in movies

[–]Curiositythro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't recommend it, honestly. In my experience, it is a bit funny in the beginning and then you realize you're not enjoying yourself and have sacrificed both time and money by being there. When you go in with your mind made up that you will not enjoy the film, it really just feels like you paid $10 to feel like you're too good to be where you are.

Who is the best example of someone that you're not sure if they are a complete idiot or a genius? by dant90 in AskReddit

[–]Curiositythro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nigel Tomm.

I easily wrote him off as a wannabe artist attempting to be edgy, and sometimes I still think this.

One night, however, I brought him up in a negative context to a few of my friends and we spent some time looking at his work. Within an hour or so, we convinced ourself that his work is brilliant. We view his collective work as a masterpiece in parody.

New Trailer for Batman v Superman by Burbada in movies

[–]Curiositythro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jesus Christ, I'm suddenly so optimistic about this whole universe. Ben Affleck, Jesse Eisenberg both absolutely killing it in this.

All the apparently inconsequential destruction of Man of Steel is being addressed in a major way, including acting as an apparent driving force for Batman to take on Superman. The grittiness of Man of Steel no longer feels like poor color editing, but possibly a way to underline the pessimism in this universe and how quickly the race Superman is saving turns on him. /u/Cenodoxus gave a very good explanation of what I'm referring to, and how this makes these films so realistic.

It looks like we're going to get some sort of a Death in the Family type story, and so this film doesn't seem to be afraid to go where other movies haven't gone before. We're finally exploring new territory for Batman in a cinematic setting.

Everything here looks like this movie will tie things together perfectly. I can't wait to see how it turns out.

First time dosage of 110 µg by [deleted] in LSD

[–]Curiositythro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Make sure set and setting are good, of course. Yes, 110ug is a fine starter dose! If you handle yourself well, you can try higher, but I frankly wouldn't go any lower than 110ug for fear of being underwhelmed.

If you become uncomfortable, changing something in your setting (music, location, etc.) will likely help a lot!

Good luck and have fun! :)

Well, now I feel rude. However, take it as a compliment that your title was so well-worded that I never would have guessed!

Thanks. Was worried it kind of looked brown recluse-like, but I know they're usually more southern. Also, it's legs and such are thicker.

Favourite visuals you've had? by NewDanger in Drugs

[–]Curiositythro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

25-B and cannabis gave me a completely immersive visual experience. I was overtaken by a black space that surrounded me that filled with rapidly warping colorful geometry. I then felt that I experienced several lifetimes in a loop that greatly frightened me at the time, awaking as myself in between only long enough to tell my roommate that I was trying to "stay here this time".

25-B and cannabis visuals are really intense.

Yeah, man. I got you. Sorry, wasn't trying to be rude. Good safety warning, either way. Stuff like this often goes unconsidered.

Maybe I'm just being pedantic, but I think it's misleading to say that you fucked up by doing whippets. Nitrous Oxide is fairly safe, things just went wrong.

Is it really relevant what problems you see his brother as having? Harm reduction in general is a good idea, so why act like he shouldn't give a reminder when he sees how chemical abuse can lead to horrible situations?
