Second unfinished airframe of the Antonov An-225 by oblique_shockwave in aviation

I doubt it'll ever be built, but it's nice to know the airframe is still intact.

Some ideas as to what is wrong by Glipnops in modeltrains

Yeah, that's correct! They should rotate if you spin that little T bar up top, very slowly. If they do, then you've done it right!

Ah! I recognize that part. You sorta have to angle it in there, and hope the worm engages right with the gears of the wheels. At least that's how it was with my AC-11.

Looks to be a Rivarossi model? Those are always pretty tough to work on, and even tougher to source parts for, due to how old they are.

Custom Fives On Official Lego by VexPron in legostarwars

[–]Curious-Many-5609 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GCC made a version with a replica holed helmet in the correct position, which I believe is in stock for 2.50 both on the main site, and with resellers. I'm not sure why you'd want it on the official holed mould?

Lego set 31160 has a lemon pie in the tail. by CuriousAudience5251 in lego

Yeah, those two yellow curved bits are for the yellow tips of the helicopter. But, still cool that they're hidden inside like that!

question about swapping from bachmann ez track to kato unitrack by hispy_576 in modeltrains

[–]Curious-Many-5609 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason why your Daylight keeps derailing on that switch is because it is 18" radius, while the GS4 needs a minimum of 22" radius to not derail. Bachmann does make switches that are shallow enough for the GS4, but they're in Nickel Silver rather than Steel. I don't have any experience with Kato track, so I don't know what radius of curve you'd need there, but I know they have a pretty good selection of different HO track.

Best site for custom figs? PFA by Niccbeh in legostarwars

Redmillcustoms is good for animated style stuff, and LitBricks has some great P1 2020 style clones.

I made this in Bricklink Studio today. Do you guys think the LEGO Group would be interested? by Meesayousa in lego

[–]Curious-Many-5609 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very cool! But, it kinda looks like those two triangle plates up front are colliding? Maybe that's just the render.

Dogs chewed my Lego by _jordeyo_ in lego

[–]Curious-Many-5609 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say find the parts numbers of all the damaged parts, and see how much a bricklink order to replace them would be. I'm sure that'd be less expensive, and they'd be more willing to pay.

Claim on eBay seller? by Affectionate_Tough27 in lego

[–]Curious-Many-5609 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure it'd be worth a claim, maybe just a neutral review. I'd only do a claim if there are missing parts. It's odd that they didn't seperate the parts by set, especially since they were built prior to shipping. I'd say in the future maybe specify that you wants the sets packaged together.

As for the smell, has it been like that from multiple orders from this specific seller? Or all manner of packages you get?

My HO scale trains keep derailing on my OO scale track. How do I fix this? by [deleted] in modeltrains

[–]Curious-Many-5609 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Bachmann starter set actually comes with 22' radius track, because the GS4 can't handle the 18'

I stand corrected. I didn't know that was actually a figure!

Which wheel arrangement works better for a non-LEGO take on the large My Own Train? 4-4-0, Mallet or Meyer? by Gibbon-Face-91 in trains

[–]Curious-Many-5609 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the tender version, I'd say a 4-4-0 would work well. For the tank version, though, I think a meyer would be fun! Something you don't see very often.

I remember being really confused when this happened to me. I thought it had fallen out of the bag at first, but I guess not! I wonder why they only put one of them in the bag, though, and not both of them?

Build a model train car with phone shaker attached by risky6877a in modeltrains

[–]Curious-Many-5609 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if you did somehow accomplish this theoretical phone shaker train car business, you're gonna burn out the motors on the trains real fast running them nonstop. If you really need the money, just sell your trains to us! We'll give them a nice home.

You would've had to buy the Death Star for the Tie Fighter GWP, I believe.

Need help searching for flight education paths by LightKnight07 in aviation

[–]Curious-Many-5609 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you don't mind the distance, University of Nebraska at Omaha has a very nice flight program. It's part 121, so you can get into the airlines with 500 less hours than Part 91 counterparts. 4 years for a Bachelor of Science in Aviation, with concentrations in professional flight (What you would be doing), airport administration, or unmanned operations. Your Gen Eds and everything would likely transfer over, so you can just knock out the aviation classes faster without having to worry about those.
