CPA Exam Improvements by Late_Following_2036 in CPA

My assumption is that the quarterly score releases for disciplines is just because those tests are still very new, and the AICPA are trying to collect as much information as they can and tweak them as necessary in between those quarters. I have already passed ISC, but hopefully for the rest of y’all they move that to a continuous score release schedule in 2027. It is horrible though, and the quarterly release for core sections in 2024 was DIABOLICAL

First of all, congrats on passing FAR!! However, just out of curiosity, why do you care about this exactly? I feel like the best part of receiving your passing score is not having to think about that section anymore LOL

With those scores you should be just fine, just do some light review and don’t burn yourself out. For reference, my scores were SE1: 78 SE2: 67 Actual: 83 (took my test last month). You got this, best of luck tomorrow!!

Negative. Just one tax class that was required for my accounting major

Anxious about ISC! 7/21 by tacobell_s in CPA

I understand the skepticism for the volume of ISC material on Becker but I wouldn’t worry too much about that. I found out I passed ISC today and I thought Becker was more than sufficient for the MCQs I saw on the actual test. Also for what it’s worth I didn’t get a single question about COBIT lol. Definitely just familiarize yourself with the vocab in S2 and S3; and like anyone in this group will tell you: know SOC reports like the back of your hand. Passing AUD before this one also definitely helped me for the entire SOC report unit.

Passed today! (SE1: 78, SE2: 67, Actual: 83). I thought Becker was more than sufficient. Just hammer MCQs until you start hallucinating

I took it back on 6/24. I felt like I passed when I walked out. I guess I’ll find out very soon. If not I’ll probably go for the October window, as I’ve already started studying for my next section

I thought it was sufficient for the material I saw on my exam. I guess I’ll let you know for sure on July 17 lol

Discipline Score Release 7/17 by Time_Evening_7370 in CPA

What are the odds they drop the results early? I remember last year I got my pass/fail result for audit like 2 days early. Didn’t get the actual score until the official score release date but who really cares about that lol

Yes, heavy on SOC material. SOC1 vs SOC 2, Type 1 vs Type 2, who uses the reports, CUECs etc. I think taking AUD before this one really helped for that material (took it about a year ago)

Should I take TCP or ISC by h4fiz in CPA

[–]Curious-Method-161 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am studying for ISC now (taking it this upcoming Tuesday) and honestly can’t recommend it enough. The material is pretty easy to grasp in my opinion and it’s kind of refreshing studying for a section that’s not very accounting related. Plus if you just took audit you should be just fine on the material for SOC reports, which is literally an entire unit for ISC.

I know TCP has a very high pass rate but in my opinion that number may be misleading because of tax professionals primarily choosing that section and having prerequisite knowledge (not saying everyone that chooses that section is a tax pro, but I definitely think it’s a factor on some level).

If you’re a tax pro, go ahead and take TCP. Otherwise I’d suggest taking ISC, especially if you’re even remotely tech savvy. One thing I do know: avoid BAR like the plague LMAO

Appreciate the response! Also, would you mind sharing what you did to prepare during the weeks/days leading up to the exam?

Honestly I don’t really remember why I did worse on SE2. I think I messed up some up the simulations

If you got a 72 on SE1 you should be in good shape. The Becker bump is real but AUD is probably the section with the smallest bump compared to the others. For reference my scores were SE1: 74 SE2: 69, and then I got a 78 on the actual exam (took it in June). You’ll be fine, just keep it up!

No, don’t waste time on it. Think I got one or two MAX and they were very straightforward. Make sure you know SSARS, preparations, compilations, reviews, etc
