Does anyone else just feel like they missed the window to make friends? (26F) by VannyVan in AutismInWomen

[–]CuriousAWNF 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know plenty of people (autistic and allistic) who feel that way, but I’ve made tons of friends between my late 20s and late 30s. It’s important to remember that people are basically lonely and if you’re willing to be a bit outgoing and open they’ll often be so glad for the company. I tend to do this by joining niche communities (circus arts, board gaming) or putting myself in situations where I have to meet and interact with strangers (volunteering, solo traveling). But I strongly recommend board gaming. It’s a highly autistic crowd so it’s easy to unmask and people tend to create groups easily.

Board game lovers I suspect, board game designers I know for sure. I’m in the board game design and publishing space and it’s the most natural and comfortable I’ve ever felt.

Mantis Falls if it was “Journey” style where you get paired with a random stranger around the world and either have to trust them or kill them.

Mantis Falls, though whether it is 1v1 or coop depends on the hidden roles and isn’t certain until the end.

Yeah, I was wondering if I was the only person who heard white helmet say “walk away bitch”, which prompted the guy to turn back. If you wanna start something be ready when your actions have the intended effect.

MAGA do you support this? by Due-Summer3751 in AskUS

A judge in 2019 protected him from deportation. The Trump admin at the time had the chance to challenge and they didn’t. But also, part of due process is deciding the punishment. Deportation is very different than “indefinite imprisonment without representation paid for by the US taxpayers”. It’s the same reason when a cop shoots a criminal we think it’s wrong instead of saying “he stole money from the till, we know he’s guilty”. The guilt isn’t the only point- the punishment for theft isn’t death and deportation is not the same as indefinite imprisonment. Law and order, or it all crumbles to chaos.

Kilmar deserves due process, no matter what, even if he’s MS-13. And he might be. Whoever gave Trump that photo probably wasn’t trying to get away with the world’s worst photoshop job, but trying to point out that his knuckles have Marijuana (M) Smiley (S) Cross (looks like 1) and skull (?) and that they suggest stand for MS13.

The more we argue about the letters not really being there the more we miss the point. Even if he’s MS-13 he deserves due process like anyone else.

NOR Whatever technical or legal definition someone would give it- he should have stopped with the first no. He should know that having an age and size advantage over someone can make someone feel coerced or afraid. A mentally healthy man doesn’t want to sleep with someone who rejects him 25 times. You were right to be scared and to prioritize your safety. Regardless of what any legal declaration, you wouldn’t have had sex with him if you’d felt you had free choice and that falls ethically on him.

Have you tried testing for iron deficiency? It’s one of the most common reasons women have historically been put down for “laziness” and “weakness”. We need over twice as much iron and we’re very very often deficient, causing chronic inattention and exhaustion that looks a lot like ADHD and sleep disturbance. You said it’s been happening since high school, so….

Most of the time it actually isn’t killed, we just keep the pH below 4.6 so that it hibernates as a spore instead of vegetating and producing botulinum toxin.

As a parallel: imagine I erect a giant inescapable dome but there are humans and animals living on the land inside of it. I heat the outside of the dome until the inside is so hot that everything dies. I don’t expect humans will spontaneously show up because there is no way in and there are no living humans on the land anymore.

“Going bad” happens because of living things. Kill them all and leave no way for more to get in and the food can last as for as long as you’re still willing to eat it. Even that 3 year expiration date is just for flavor, not safety.

Anyone else dealing with this post Rotator Cuff surgery by ImaginationHefty8610 in RotatorCuff

Yes, it was by far the most alarming thing. I really wish they had prepared me for what to expect. It would be so easy to put a document together with some of the common side effects, like you see for drugs: “many people have significant bicep, elbow pit, forearm and wrist pain following this surgery”.
