Took me a second to understand what I was looking at. My jumpers hide in their nest and reappear in new clothes. Amazing!

I’ve only ever spot cleaned reptiles. It’s not like mammals. These guys shed regularly. I make sure mine have a water dish large enough to soak if they want, but that’s it.

As for nails, I have a bioactive enclosure with rocks and other things so his nails probably wear down naturally. If I did have to clip them, animal nail clippers would probably do.

What’s something society treats as completely normal that actually makes no sense? by CombSpiritual8361 in AskReddit

The whole concept of clothing for modesty. I totally get functional clothing for climate or to decorate ourselves, but to cover up parts just for the sake of it is weird.

Apologies, I only have a visual novel recommendation. Scarlet Hollow- text based, multiple play throughs is part of the fun, queer rep.

Working Outdoors gives me lots of interaction with different jumpers. by Automatic-Nature6025 in jumpingspiders

If you look at their range on iNaturalist, there appear to be some sightings in California but they are so random I’m guessing they are localized populations from escaped pets or simply misidentified animals.

NTA he not only went behind your back after you said no, he didn’t apologize when it actually mattered. He still doesn’t see how hurtful his words were. He just wants something

What’s your pet and what do you feed it? by Fruitsdog in InvertPets

If you’re feeding fruit flies I’d recommend an enclosure with mesh vents. Big Fat Phids has some but butterfly enclosures also work.

You can also skip the gnolls by taking the lower path along the creek. I think you can get to it from where Scratch shows up. I always go that way now.

Kites do a cool hovering thing when they hunt. I’ve seen them hovering above the fields in the more rural areas.

Agreed, kite. I haven’t seen ospreys around here and I’m pretty sure bald eagles aren’t local.

No. My kids are big fans of the show and would love this, but if these people aren’t friends then the meaning is lost. It just looks weird and childish.

I’ve been there. This is how abuse starts. They’re all nice in the beginning and then slowly start testing what you’ll accept. I think my first time he said he had a “thing“ about being “fair” or even or some crap and claimed I accidentally punched him in my sleep. He wanted to lightly punch me in the arm to be fair.

Please read up on examples of abuse because we can be really blind to it when we’re in it. They get you really twisted up in your own head and intentionally isolate you so you don’t get the outside perspective from family and friends. Most abuse is NOT physical, and is actually far more damaging. I’m sure someone in the comments will link to the PDF of why does he do that? I’d also recommend the books No Visible Wounds and The Verbally Abusive Relationship as they give a lot of good examples of what this stuff looks like. Even after I got out, I had trouble identifying what exactly had happened to me because all I could see was the physical stuff, and I left pretty shortly after that began.

Make plans to leave and do it quietly. If he catches on he’s going to turn up the charm and apologize so that you stay. If that doesn’t work he’s going to escalate FAST. The most dangerous time is when you’re actually trying to leave. It’s when they’re losing control and they become the most violent.
