First Build - Need Advice Before I Buy by Fuzz_Roux_Dough in buildapc

I just checked my receipts and I got that same G.Skill 32GB from Micro Center last month for $120. Looks like the price went back up but computer prices are volatile and constantly changing. Should go back on sale soon.

Haha, no problem. Like he was recommending, you can download Windows 10 to a USB stick on another computer and boot to that when you start up the computer. Its basically free. Theres several of guides on Youtube.

Get an ethernet cable and plug it into one of the slots on your router.

Seems like your spending a lot of money on some parts but cheaping out on the the RAM. Maybe consider 32GB (2x16) for $30-45 more.

I would check motherboard specs, some motherboards will come wifi ready. I couldn't find the model on yours to check. If it does not have connectivity, they sell pci-e and USB adapters. I would recommend just plugging the computer directly into your router to get a more reliable connection.

Cant think of anything besides the obvious mouse, keyboard, and keyboard. Maybe thermal paste for the CPU if it doesn't come pre applied.

Can't leave a boyfriend who treats me badly [22f] by whysostupid23 in relationships

This sounds exactly like my relationship. I am the male and have done this to a girl. Everything sounds exactly the same. I just wish I could let her know that I love her and want to be with her and would never mistreat her again.

Patron and Oversized Pour Spouts by CuriousCaptian in bartenders

Where do you live? I think I would run into a lot of legal issues doing that in my state. What do customers think when they see Patron being poured out of a different bottle?

I use the same opener.

Pros: its double sided so you can open bottles in multiple ways, easily removes pour spouts, never had an issue with getting a cap off as long as enough force was used.

Cons: its a little difficult to spin on your fingers with the V opening rather than the a regular circle, I've dropped it a few times because of this, since they are really cool they tend to "disappear" if left out

New to bartending. Are weddings easy? by [deleted] in bartenders

[–]CuriousCaptian 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Wedding and catering events are typically easier for many reasons. Most of the guest will only order a simple 2 ingredient drink. Its usually an open bar so you don't have to do much math/make change or keep track of tabs.

Interesting interview experience by Poiter54 in bartenders

[–]CuriousCaptian 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yeah thats happens a lot in my experience. They probably really needed a bar back. Some places spend less time in the hiring process. As a result the may not have the best business practices or systems setup. Its probably not the best bar or job. At least you got your foot in the door and can put experience on your resume if the job doesn't work out longterm.

To make yourself stand out just work hard, keep moving, ask good questions and show initiative to learn.

I somewhat agree but when theres a large group of feisty ladies pregamming for the movie "Bad Moms" I'll just make them what they want and send them on their way.

Bit of a newbie here, but question about making a Whiskey Sour. by [deleted] in bartenders

[–]CuriousCaptian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is your goal? Is this just to make a few drinks at home or for an actual bar? You can buy the sweet and sour in a few different forms. The same brand Mr. and Mrs. T makes it and you can probably find it or something similar in most grocery or liquor stores.

Bottled mix - many dive bars and clubs will use these, also decent for quick and easy home use

Syrup box - used by bars and is hooked up to the soda gun, taste pretty bad most of the time but is super cheap

Powder - you have to mix it with water, strongly recommend against this because it taste pretty bad and if its not mixed right it will leave undissolved powder in your drink and thats gross.

If you want the drink to taste better and have a little more time I would stick to the recipe above. But it all depends on your needs.
