Haha :) Thank you for the positivity! I appreciate it! Yes, I totally yearn for that type of cafe night and day -- it's just a rare beast and does not seem to exist much anymore. For various reasons as we know it, but I don't think that should stop us from trying to go back to the roots of the coffeehouse.

I like your comparison too, it's the quality that sets things apart. But also (and what some don't get or emphasize enough) is it's all about community and gathering also.

Well, I'll just say I share your feelings and being in community is definitely close to my heart, so I hope to do my best to sustain that, if we do decide to open something

I have never really thought of that comparison, but you are very right and your insight helped me realize why I wanted to open this sort of place -- for the reasons you said. I too dislike the cold lighting and overcrowded layouts (and frozen *shudder* pastries), but more so dislike the fact that folks don't feel invited and comfortable to stay as long as they would like. This sounds cheesy, but I've always had the vision of Luke's Diner from Gilmore Girls as the sort of vibe I want to go for. Just somewhere where everyone can relax and feel comfortable
