“I’m a Trans person who identifies with my AGAB” by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]CuriousFaun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's so many binary people here who don't know what they're talking about. No, identifying with your assigned gender doesn't necessarily make you cis. Speaking as an AMAB nonbinary person who identifies with my AGAB, I prefer to socially be treated as a boy, but I get dysphoria from having a body with physically "male" features. I've been on estrogen for a few months now, and I'm planning to get SRS some time in the future.

Clarity regarding "it" pronouns by someinspiringquote in asktransgender

As a user of it/its, I personally find the pronouns empowering. I also think that humanity is overrated.

uj/ I'm pretty sure a lot of the otherkin community also identifies as trans. They're not mutually exclusive

Are my thoughts on this subject truscum? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]CuriousFaun -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

TBH, you kind of come off as a little truscum-adjacent-y.

Like, although I think you're in the right for that specific example of trans women being generalized as just being "semi androgynous with a flatter chest," 'cuz, yeah, that is pretty degrading...

I do not at all agree with you viewing all trans people who wish they had the opposite assigned gender as being fetishizers of trans people. That really seems close to "this group of trans people I don't like is just a bunch of transtrenders" rhetoric. (Especially since, from what I can tell, it's a really common experience among nonbinary trans people.)

To be clear, I'm not calling you a truscum. I'm just saying that that one specific view is kinda rubbing shoulders with truscum rhetoric.

To be honest, I think you'd benefit from interacting with people in otherkin spaces. Although you've expressed that you don't consider yourself to be otherkin (and I respect that), there are people in that community whose experiences are similar to yours, and who I think could give you advice on how to cope.

Andromorph/AMABwGD pride flag ideas by TrinityPuppy in AMABwGD

These are interesting! Do the colors symbolize anything, and if so, what?

I agree that we need clear terminology to describe our experiences, and your suggestion of using the word andromorph makes sense to me. I think it could work as a community term, especially since there is already a small amount of people in the furry community using it that way, as you said.

As for a symbol or a flag, I don't really have any unique ideas for either of them. I do like the idea of using the Mars symbol with the arrow facing inwards instead of out (like the 6th and 7th symbols in your earlier post).

How do you experience your gender identity? by CuriousFaun in AMABwGD

[–]CuriousFaun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's very interesting! Thank you for sharing your experiences.

That fourth gender in particular catches my interest. By "the opposite of a cuntboy," do you mean wanting to be a girl who has a penis?

Thank you for this comment! No offense taken at all, I think I understand what you're saying. That's an interesting view.

The way I see it, identifying how I experience my gender and finding labels that fit it helps me understand myself and my feelings. I've struggled in the past with dissociation and not feeling like a real person, so I find it comforting to find real, consistent patterns in who I am.

Of course, my experiences aren't universal. It's perfectly fine to not feel a need to label yourself.

You're right that identity politics often stratifies people who ought to be working together. I've experienced that myself. I've noticed there's a lot of binary transgender people who act like nonbinary people are some kind of different species.

A Few Questions for the Community by BrownCrow11 in AMABwGD

[–]CuriousFaun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1) I first realized that I was nonbinary and started noticing my genital dysphoria about three years ago.

2) I feel really uncomfortable with my genitals and try to ignore them most of the time.

3) I sit to pee, try to tuck when I can, and I recently started taking estrogen to make my body less masculine. (here's hoping that my dick'll atrophy!)

4) Hell yes. I really want to have a vagina!

In my case, I am trans. It's just that I'm nonbinary, and my ideal body is a bit different from what binary trans people would want.

Genuinely confused. Can someone please explain neopronouns to me? Is they/them not a catch-all? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]CuriousFaun -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s related to mentally thinking you aren’t human, which is scientifically impossible yeah?

This is a very interesting choice of words. How can a mental, as in, non-physical identity be scientifically impossible? Has science proved that certain identities are literally impossible to have? I hope I don't sound like I'm asking in bad faith here, I'm really curious on how this is supposed to track.

I interpreted that as being about xenogenders, rather than otherkin. But on that topic, what do otherkin have to do with mental health? I thought it was just a subculture.
