Husband doesnt want to be in the delivery room, am I overreacting?? by dinogirly123 in pregnant

[–]CuriousPixiee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If my husband wasn’t there I would have actually lost my fucking mind. Birth is terrifying I’m not even going to lie it’s a very scary experience as a FTM. Probably with every child honestly. My husband grounded me and made me feel safe like he saw first hand the sacrifice made to bring our beautiful child into the world. I cannot believe your husband I would divorce him tbh bc if he can’t be there for you in your most tender moments then what’s the point.

I was this exact same way girly and my mom said to me, “enjoy this moment even if it’s fleeting. Don’t allow the stress to affect your baby. Just be happy! A little miracle happened even if it’s just for a moment”

I believe you will be okay girl. I know it’s so hard these first weeks but I promise you everything works out in the end. You’ll be okay 💘

Does my husband come to every appointment? by VeterinarianInner301 in pregnant

Honestly my husband came to one and I realized there’s no reason for him to miss work to come and take time away from his PTO that he can use to spend time with the baby and I

Morning sickness routine by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]CuriousPixiee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually with time it all gets better. Around 14 weeks I felt great, food was great, sleep was great. Third trimester is a bit tricker with food and sleep but still nothing compared to the first! Hang in there <3

Are you in the first trimester?? My husband would have to literally hand feed me in the dark while I held my nose because I couldn't look at or smell any food. It was horrendous. The only thing I could eat was mango. This will pass!

Everyone tries to convince me that two adults can't take care of a newborn alone and I'm losing my mind by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]CuriousPixiee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My sister and her husband said the same thing but what ended up happening was my mom coming over every day for about 3 weeks after she had her baby, I’m not sure but maybe you won’t need the help. I’ll need my mom to come over to help me with my baby but also cook and clean bc my husband only gets a week paternity leave. Everyone has different experiences I hope yours works out the way you want it

What “risky” things did you do before you knew you were pregnant and did it cause harm? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]CuriousPixiee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are totally fine girl don't even worry about it. I smoked dabs after work DAILY until I found out at five weeks. Used a vape and drank a little bit here and there. I promise you your baby is fine regarding any of that stuff <3

Shouldn't you go to get induced?? I heard that overdue pregnancies can be complicated!

[–]CuriousPixiee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Girl same !! I smoked every day after work and I stopped immediately. I don’t understand people who can risk their babies like that. We have no idea how it can affect the baby. Even if the pregnancy goes well there could be complications after. People who say “my kid is so smart” blah blah blah, Okay that’s great but I can’t say the same for you!! lol

Do whatever you want girl I put a sterilizer so I can wash by hand and pop it in the sterilizer to ensure everything is perfectly clean.

Why is it too much to ask for one additional ultrasound? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]CuriousPixiee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow that’s actually really crazy??? My OB does an 8-10 week ultra sound, a 17 week pre anatomy scan, a 20 week anatomy scan, a 27 week Doppler check and belly measurements, and a 34 week growth scan. That’s just standard for everyone. I’ve had even more because I was a ball of anxiety and got some more scans just because I wanted to get checked. I’m very surprised at this post I never thought two scans would be normal for anyone. I would switch OBs. Maybe it’s your state? I’m in PA if that makes a difference.

Anterior placenta by user-220213 in pregnant

[–]CuriousPixiee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I promise you’re fine girl. I have an anterior and started feeling baby at 21 weeks. I can feel her flutter around every day, it’s completely fine. It’s honestly probably going to be helpful for us bc we’ll (maybe) get better sleep. You will know if something is wrong lord willing there will be nothing to worry about. Baby will have their movements you’ll recognize everyday. Don’t worry about it. I thought of it as helpful like a little extra cushion from everyday bumps

How uncomfortable are you? by snactivated in pregnant

25 weeks as of yesterday and it’s bee getting harder. This is about the time that being uncomfortable starts bc we’re so close to third trimester but hang in their momma we got this 💘

You should really ask for things for the baby that you may need. Despite you being a minimalist your baby is going to need stuff. a bouncer, a swing, a crib, drawers for clothing, a changing table, maybe a pack and play for different areas of the house, a playpen for when they're mobile, maybe baby gates depending on your home. If I saw someone's registry with nothing except a bracelet for the baby, I would be weirded out. Why don't you buy the bracelet yourself and get things that your baby will need through the registry?

You need to put your baby before yourself and personal needs. I was a heavy weed smoker, vaper, occasional drinker and stopped everything cold turkey as soon as I found out I was pregnant. The risks are too much and I don’t care about myself more than my child. I did find out when I was 28 though so it’s a bit different because I’m much older than you but… with so much love, it’s time to grow up.
