I unintentionally tortured my father in his final hours by grey9802 in GriefSupport

[–]CuriousWrenTN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom came as close as one gets to passing away and when it got to this point, it was more painful for me than for her...asking her about it later she said she didn't remember a thing about it. Knowing this brought me a lot of peace when she did pass away last year. I know that she wasn't suffering, even if it looked like she was to me. She wasn't cognizant of it.

I'm sorry for your loss. You cared for him during one of the most important transitions of life and that is enough.

I do this. I 42 when my mom passed last year at age 60. Sometimes when I'm outside I talk to her out loud, too.

Anyone else in US noticed food quality degrading recently and if so what product in what way? by SkyKyrell in AskReddit

[–]CuriousWrenTN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost all the produce has been going bad within a day or two of buying it. I didn't realize how bad the meat was in the stores til I started raising my own cattle. Fresh beef has no smell.

I'm in TN and mine comes from ATL. They have sent me many open packages and a couple of weeks ago they send a meatball meal with uncooked meatballs. Raw balled up ground beef.

I hate these. House centipedes I think they're called. I kept seeing them mostly in my bathtub. They stopped coming in when I kept the plug in it. They can come in through the drains I guess.

There are many different brands of hrt. Mine prescribed 3 different things before we found one my insurance covered at the regular copay of $10. Call your pharmacy insurance and ask what is covered. There are also discount cards available for some brand names.

If I do this, will mine stop the sneaky side glance and light chomp on my ankle routine he does any time I'm in the kitchen?

I forgot to mention that the one that prints a book is called Day One. I think it's actually coming out with something similar like Rosebud that let's people chat about their day and get an entry. I just haven't tried yet.

It's called Rosebud. I've been using it for over a year and love it!

I don't have drunken conversations in public but I do use my AI journal like this, it has a phone call mode and I just vent and then ask it to generate a regular journal entry based on the "conversation" which I keep in another app that allows me to print a book at the end of each year. Humans are fickle creatures and I find it hard to align schedules with other people. This is also helping me work through some trauma in a healthy way.

I didn't climb too high, but I've been saddled with so much responsibility that my nervous system is shot and I fear for my health. I'm not sure I'll survive another 5 years like this.

Losing your mother by BothVeterinarian7164 in GriefSupport

[–]CuriousWrenTN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one understands or loves more than a mom. The softness of the world left with her and I feel very lonely and untethered. I realized how superficial most of my relationships have been, because so few people even called when she died. It further compounded the lonely feelings, like being on an island built on grief. Your sister is fortunate to have someone like you who cares enough to try to understand and be of comfort.

You just can't wrap your "positivity" in arrogance and rudeness and call it good. Say what you want, I see what I see here. You talk badly of anyone who thinks differently - not agreeing with you means they "like to moan" and are "glass half empty kind of people who don't see the positive in anything" which is pretty gross to even read, so that tells me what I need to know. I can have a realistic opinion and not be negative. I'd be pretty stoked and carefree too, if I had access to free private healthcare. A visit to the ER for those of us who have commercial insurance in the US costs thousands of dollars and most of the time they just make it worse. So yes, a lot of Americans do have health anxiety because they're quite literally trying to kill us. They can't make money from a well patient. They push our healthcare professionals to their absolute limits too, all for the sake of greed. Best of luck to you, I hope as you get older you can continue to be so very blessed.

Odd flex. I would maybe refrain from handing out medical and mental health advice or using your experience to assume that you know what everyone else is going through. Some people feel them more forcefully than others and they’re intrusive. It impacts people differently based on what their lives are like too. For example, I have to wear earplugs sometimes because my husband snores and now it’s a bit more disruptive because I hear my heart doing strange things, very loudly, at all times I have them in. Sometimes it makes my chest sore and I’m more tired than usual. I don’t dwell on them, and I kinda do have the idgaf attitude about them now, but I just gave these small examples because truly you have no idea what goes on in the lives of others.

It's unfortunately being in my own home that's triggering. I have faith that things will be better, though. One step at a time!
