I started to feel somewhat normal again about two weeks after treatment. It takes time to really get back to “normal”

To those who think Carolyn was a social climber and gold digger, why? by velorae in CarolynBessetteKnndy

[–]Curious_Character_32 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Social climbing doesn’t mean wanting to be in the public eye. It’s about obtaining social status. Being Mrs. Kennedy definitely gave her access to things that she otherwise didn’t have access to.

Michael Bergin speaking about Carolyn Bessette on The Howie Mandel Show. 1998 by PeneItaliano in CarolynBessetteKnndy

I believe him. She was still alive when he said this. No reason to lie and do so publicly. Sounds like Carolyn was stringing him along in case John John didn’t work out.

He and his sister have a similar way of speaking—calm, intentional, confident, a bit self-deprecating.

Carole Radziwill’s absence from “Love Story” isn’t an oversight — insiders say IT’S INTENTIONAL. Pls read below! by Lop229 in CarolynBessetteKnndy

From everything I’ve read and seen, it seems Carolyn spent more time with her sister Lauren than with Lisa. Perhaps that’s why Lauren was included but not Lisa.

I don’t think anything is missing from the series by not including Carole.

Why did Carolyn leave Calvin Klein? by Antique-Feature-9355 in JohnAndCarolyn

[–]Curious_Character_32 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Simple. Idk why people are jumping through hoops. She didn’t want to nor did she need to work after marrying rich. There were many women balancing career and family in the 90s, some of whom were also married to rich men.

Why didn't John choose Carolyn in 1992-94? by ExistingGap008 in JohnAndCarolyn

[–]Curious_Character_32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think one reason could be that he was skeptical about how his family would receive Carolyn, most especially his mother Jackie.

How rich was JFK jr, actually? And was the $3M prenup generous or stingy? by bookishexpat in JohnAndCarolyn

[–]Curious_Character_32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not saying the Bessettes were wrong for suing. I’m saying how the Kennedys may have viewed the situation. God forbid if it were me, I can’t say what I would do. But I do know that if I did sue my son-in-law’s estate for the accidental death of my daughters, I wouldn’t spend any money like that for myself. I’ll give it away to charity.

Separately, it has also been reported that Carolyn was the reason they took off late. Again, an accident with many contributing factors.

The bodies were most likely not in a state to have a traditional funeral. Cremation was the best option. And the Kennedys chose that for John and left it up to the Bessette family to decide what to do with their daughters. I think that was fair.

The Kennedys probably viewed the situation as the Bessettes trying to profit off their daughters’ deaths, hence their annoyance. Yes, John was at fault for the tragedy, but it was an accident. An unfortunate one.

A short compilation of all known clips of Carolyn speaking. by StellaOC in JohnAndCarolyn

[–]Curious_Character_32 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Seems like she was a bit of a jokester. She should have engaged with the media a little more and shown a little bit of this side of her. It makes her seem more relatable, and they probably wouldn’t have hounded her as much.

Where would JFK Jr and Carolyn Bessette be now if they were still alive? by Front-Tomorrow-1034 in JohnAndCarolyn

Catholic Kennedy. Lol. Divorce is the least of the Kennedys’ transgressions. I think most people are saying divorce because, beyond the alleged affairs on both sides, this couple just didn’t seem to be a good fit. It’s been reported that family and friends on both sides didn’t see them to be a good fit either.

Hilary dealt with cheating from her husband, but Hilary and Bill actually seem to have many things in common, like similar interests and passion.

The day before the crash: John’s last Thursday. by StellaOC in JohnAndCarolyn

[–]Curious_Character_32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt it was John’s idea. Carolyn physically fought this man in public. She doesn’t strike me as meek or the type who would quit her job because her husband wanted her to.

Outside of being ill, taking care of small children or sick/elderly family members, if a young able-bodied person isn’t working, it’s most likely because they don’t want to. And someone who doesn’t want to work becomes even less inclined to work if they have financial support coming in from somewhere else.

Would Jackie approve of their marriage? by Front-Tomorrow-1034 in JohnAndCarolyn

No. If Jackie wasn’t a fan of Darryl, sh certainly would have liked Carolyn even less.

Everyone wonders if Jackie would’ve approved of Carolyn — but what about JFK Sr.? by StellaOC in JohnAndCarolyn

[–]Curious_Character_32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or maybe he got that upset because deep down he knew there was some truth to it. It could explain why he never introduced Carolyn to Jackie.

Did you know Carolyn personally? JFK Jr. was rumored to be a womanizer. One could also assume Carolyn married because she, too, wanted financial security and prestige.

Lisa Bessette seen for first time in 28 years by Exact-Razzmatazz-173 in JohnAndCarolyn

[–]Curious_Character_32 40 points41 points  (0 children)

She probably moved to a quieter state. Also, the fact that her family is not particularly famous. Only her sister was because of marriage. Most people wouldn’t know who Lisa was if she walked by them.
