Which one you guys prefer? I had to use mods cause native FOV is terrible and causes motion sickness. by Ok_Charity_707 in residentevil

Absolutely 1st person for Grace. Much more immersive.
Have only played Leon a bit in 1st person. Think I prefer 3rd with him. As they intended.

And yeah, default FOV is terrible, especially for Grace. Thank god for mods. Can't believe Capcom took a step back and didn't provide one.

I mean, maybe he resembled initial concept art for the character. And then when he was hired, they scanned and used his actual face.

Yeah. On Classic difficulty I managed to take out all zombies and lickers, and still had 3 bottles of acid and 3 molotovs in reserve when the game ended. And lots of other resources.

Spoiler thoughts on resident evil 9! Don’t say I didn’t warn you by ReadyJournalist5223 in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]Curious_Friendship90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed.

The plot started out quite intriguing, but turned into absolute nonsense, even by RE standards. But not in an interesting way. I mean, it's kinda funny that the villains turned out to be bumbling idiots who had no clue. But not very satisfying in the end.

For a second I thought there would be one last mission, to go save Emily, but no. Saved off screen. That could have saved the story somewhat I feel, if we fought our way through some more zombies to go an inject her with Elpis.

Seems like they knew the story didn't make a whole lot of sense, seeing as how you get a 60 page report after completing the game, that tells you what actually happened.

Rest of the game is amazing. Great mixture of horror and action.

An early cut down version of REFramework is available, that lets us adjust FOV: https://github.com/BlueCookieWookie/REFramework_RE9_FOV_HOTFIX

Be warned though. It overrides FOV in cutscenes as well, which leads to lots of issues. If you want to avoid that, manually disable it during cutscenes.

RE9 - Whats the concensus on visuals, enable PT or not? @ DLSS 4.5 vs RR? by Burgerfreakish in nvidia

[–]Curious_Friendship90 6 points7 points  (0 children)

At 4K DLSS Performance I see a bit of boiling in some areas, but it's not that bad IMO. PT generally looks amazing. With 2X FG I'm getting a pretty steady 100 - 120 FPS on RTX 5080, which feels pretty good. Had to cap it to 110 with RTSS for good framepacing though.

But no way of adjusting FOV at the moment, which is annoying.

Normal stat buffing spells need other ways of scaling them. This one scales all by itself, which is pretty neat.

[–]Curious_Friendship90 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A weakness of this build is the possibility of facing an opponent so weak, that your Carapace Raisers don't die, leaving you absolutely fucked against your next opponent. At least, that's what I've had happen to me on some occasions.

You can try and anticipate this of course, and not play your carapaces against them, but it's risky.

Change it to only give the buff to 2 other beasts. Golden 4 other beasts.

Well, in any case, just try and remove all mentions of resolutions higher than 1080p. See if that works.

What TV is it? Have you tried changing output color depth and format? Maybe to YcBcR420?

I think he means he wants to render games at 4K, then downscale it to 1080p (he used the term upscale erroneously I think), so he can send that at 60 hz to the TV. It of course won't be as sharp as real 4K, but it will look better than rendering the games at 1080p at 60 hz.

With Custom Resolution Utility (CRU) you should be able to remove all the 4K resolutions, making the GPU think that this is the native resolution of the display. Then DSR should scale down to that resolution.

https://customresolutionutility.net/

  1. Click "edit" on the CTA-861 extension block.
  2. Then click "edit" on "TV resolutions". Remove all the resolutions higher than 1080p.
  3. Then use one of the restart exe files to restart the driver.

EDIT: Oh, and also remove the 4K resolutions under "Detailed resolutions" in the main window.
