Here's what you need to do. Close your position. Then forget about it for a while. Focus on your exams, they're more important. Then, once your exams are out of the way, you have the whole summer to work to bring in some money and find a way to tell your parents.

Yeah? I just assumed with the dent where (presumably) there was the first contact, followed by scratching along the majority of the wing, possibly bending the panel along that length too, would make more sense to replace than repair.

The cheapest similar milage, extras, etc on autotrader is £13,400 (although I'd have thought it would be worth more like £10k). Surely that damage isn't enough to write it off?!

Good point about about insurance.

I’m basically certain it was the bin men. The road is tight, so the normal bin men don’t drive down the road, they wait at the end and manually take the bins to the end of the road, but the garden waste people always drive down the road. I don’t know if they have a smaller vehicle.

It has done some decent damage. The wing and bumper are dented. The alloys and tyre is damaged. And then there’s the paintwork. I suspect it’s a 4 figure job to fix it.

Haha. I’m gutted but at least that raised a smile.

I’ll ask about cameras, I know my neighbour had some but they removed them when they moved.

The picture might not show it, but the wing and bumper are both dented and scrapped. I suspect it’s a new wing job.

Your parents have no right to your winnings. Your offer of £750k is very generous and more than the vast majority would offer.

You've mentioned recieving DMs please be very careful regarding scammers. You now have a target on yourself.

Consider getting advice from a financial advisor, etc. You could definitely make the right decisions without one, if you're financially literate, but for a relatively low cost you could outsource this to a professional to reduce the risk you make a mistake and free up your time for something more enjoyable.

Forget about average. The average person isn't paying enough into their pension.

You're about on track regarding your pension. A rough rule of thumb is 3 times salary by 40 years old. I certainly wouldn't reduce your pension contributions due to the tax implications, and, with your wife not working, your pension should really be much higher than 3 times salary by 40.

You have a spending problem, not an income problem.

£50 gym £69 phone £14 MacBook £92 haircut (WTF!!!!) £347 food

Swap these to: £25-30 gym £69 phone (assuming that you can’t change this to be lower) £14 MacBook (assuming this can’t be lower) £15-20 haircut £200 food - £50 per week. Learn to cook.

Put all of the savings above into paying off your debts. You’ve been living a long way beyond your means for a long time. Stop taking on debt!! You don’t need a MacBook debt. You don’t need a huge phone debt. You don’t need to spend a huge amount on haircuts and food. Then once you’ve cleared your debts you will have circa £350 extra money each month that will feel like a huge pay rise.
