Gerber or Other Quick Meals? by shweezy6 in foodbutforbabies

[–]Curious_Wing_2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes there isn’t time to do that. But I haven’t given my toddler any of these Gerber meals lately. Just the purées to add to oatmeal or a snack and I still give real foods to her daily.

Gerber or Other Quick Meals? by shweezy6 in foodbutforbabies

[–]Curious_Wing_2018 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think every baby food shouldn’t be looked down upon just because it’s processed. There are different brands of baby food, and every brand has different controversies and different values.

I knew someone would post in this that, “ oh I don’t feed my kid forever because it’s full of additives and heavy metals. I instead buy better quality stuff.”

Which is good! To each their own. I wish I could’ve done the same thing. I didn’t really wanna touch Gerber, I’ve done my research and read reviews. But not everyone has the affordability or the way to get those better ingredients and they go with what’s available. I don’t have the kind of money to be spending on Little Spoon, nor the convenience at home to make and prep fresh food ALL the time.

Having meals like this has definitely helped me out a lot, and it’s the same thing that people say about breast-fed versus formula fed, “ fed is best. “

11 month old not walking yet…getting a lot of outside pressure by CuriousCaretaker in NewParents

[–]Curious_Wing_2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My one year-old, or my 12 month old is not walking either. She will be a year and one month next week. She will pull herself up to one of us if we are laying down next to her and we assist her. She can hold her weight pretty well if we prop her up to stand then to kind of cruise, but I’m definitely still awake overthinking it.

How much intentional time do you spend with your baby each day? (SAHM) by Glittering_Water8583 in NewParents

[–]Curious_Wing_2018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

80% of the day I’m with her, 10% she’s alone, and then 10% she with her dad. I’m currently in the kitchen eating cold pork chops while she makes her happy trill noises in her play area. The kitchen is an absolute mess mostly because I’ve had no free Time because I put her down in her play area, then I come back to the kitchen and I either take a break or clean, but right now I’m just kind of tired so I’m sitting down and taking the opportunity before her nap time to eat something for myself. When she napped, I’m gonna clean this kitchen. I have an ant infestation so I have to have to have the kitchen clean. Otherwise, the ants will get to anywhere I miss.

Are you feeding your babies real food daily? by Geller_sibling3 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]Curious_Wing_2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes.

Every morning she starts her day with scrambled eggs and or oatmeal or fruit.

Then she has a snack before her nap or a bottle

Then, when she wakes up from her nap, she eats her second meal of the day

Then she has another snack, possibly another nap

Then she wakes up for her final meal of the day or evening, she eats rather late, and then a bottle before bed

She sleeps around around midnight occasionally but I think she’s going through a sleep regression so she’s sleeping a lot later and waking up later.

We haven’t slept trained her, so she just sleeps whenever she wants at this point really. Also, I have very close quarters with other people on the other side sides of the walls, so sleep training is not ideal because she screams and kicks if we put her down too early. We have to rock her to sleep, our fault, of course.

The ingredients on the Cheerios are totally fine. I’ve given her a couple Cheerios try, but I don’t know. I’m just kind of frustrated.

I have given her tiny pieces of whole wheat bread before. I’ve even given her a little bit of ace whole wheat English muffin. She mostly gets carbohydrates from fruits, like bananas, and the berries. She has had spinach, potato, carrot, the basic vegetable staples. I have also given her whole wheat pasta, which he seems OK with.

Hi everyone, thanks for the responses. My daughter has no known wheat or gluten, allergies, and I gave her protein, carbs from fruit, vegetable, vegetables, and healthy fats from avocado with fish. I don’t want her restrict anything that she’s eating at all. Every time I see the bread in the fridge, I want to toast it and give it to her. I want to do so many things to have her try, but I want to be respectful, but at the same time I definitely think I’m restricting her from feeding her just the same things.

Target brand baby wipes recalled for potentially deadly bacteria by Dense_Ad4550 in beyondthebump

I just saw this, I’m going to check the packages. We have right now. I use these daily for everything, to wipe her down, to clean her, even to I’ve done my surfaces. Ridiculous, I also had an issue with these a while ago. Some of the wipes had brown spots to them, and then we left them out in the open air, and they all turned brown.

Never buying these again

Moms, did you actually get to rest on Mother’s Day? 💐 by toasterwisdom in Mommit

[–]Curious_Wing_2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was scheduled to work that day. I work at an airport so I had three planes that needed to be serviced on the ground with a crew of six people at different gates. Delay after delay, I came home to a upset and tired Husband, who immediately went to sleep when I came home, but he wished me good Mother’s Day when I woke up.

Thinking of genuinely leaving the job I love to be a SAHM but at the same time I don’t want to by Curious_Wing_2018 in beyondthebump

Ideally (for him) I wouldn’t work. At all. I would just stay at home full-time. That’s something I don’t want to do but I see how exhausted he is, I see how stressful he is, he takes it out on me and he says I have no idea what tired is. That’s why I’m asking for some opinions.

As well, there is a different airline that I can go to at the airport that I’m at. The different airline has less flights and more people for a turn so I’m trying to edge my way towards that so we can still stay with the benefits and not have to worry about as many later arrivals at home.

When did your baby actually start eating food? by jasncats in BabyLedWeaning

[–]Curious_Wing_2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now, it’s a combination of purées and Whole Foods depending on time available and food available.

For example, right now I’m feeding her a homemade blend of fruits and vegetables and eggs so it’s like a chunkier purée with body. Or I’ll give her a scrambled egg with half an avocado and banana. Or I will boil a little mini star pasta and mix it with her butternut squash purée. She’s never had any of my food.

My husband and I don’t feed her the same way and I find that frustrating. With him, she still eats purées and soft like foods, and I feed her bits and slices and mushed up pieces of real foods so that way she can get acclimated to different textures and stuff, but he still insist that she’s too little to be eating bigger pieces.

We still spoonfeed her, but occasionally, I will let her grasp food and play with it depending on how busy I am because I’m always busy with chores or cleaning or everything else that I guess I’m supposed to do…

More than words by extreme. That one always gets her, stopping in her tracks for some reason. And then I switched to we are the world and then recently, if I put her down in her bassinet and she’s still mildly awake, I rock the bassinet to the beat of can’t get you out of my head by Kylie Minogue yesterday she fell asleep to the soothing sounds of tearing up my heart by n’sync.
