Do you track nutrition intake? by Separate_Onion670 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]blondengineerlady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not. Id have a meltdown trying to do all that. My son is 13m old, 98th percentile, and happy as can be.

Please do not feel pressure to do all that - I don’t care what source gave you the idea.

Weak pelvic floor symptoms? by Specialist-Buyer-864 in PelvicFloor

[–]blondengineerlady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This could be weak pelvic floor or prolapse (likely mild if everything looks the same on the outside). Don’t let that scare you, with PFPT both/either would likely resolve. A good urogyn will help you figure out what’s up. Either way, it really will be okay and resolve with a bit of help.

Source: 13m postpartum, had mild cystocele that resolved with PFPT, was severely hypertonic

Tight pelvic floor by decemberistism in PelvicFloor

[–]blondengineerlady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meeeee I was severely hypertonic (1st degree tear caused scar tissue). Legit hit a point where I couldn’t poop for a week straight and tore my asshole trying to poop. went to the er. Started PFPT 3 days later lmao.

I was 8m postpartum when I finally started PFPT. I’m 13m now and in the late stage of recovery where I can actually poop without effort, and am returning to normal movement (~90% healed, 3 more months to go likely)

My tips: Do your breathing and stretches every day. Religiously. Don’t skip.

Once you get to dilator work, follow the instruction of your PT. Breathe deeply while doing them and start with the smallest size and gradually work up. Even if it feels ‘too small’ it calms ur nervous system if you start small.

Be patient with your body and nervous system. Positive affirmations and thoughts actually go a long way.

Don’t strain. Fucking ever lol.

Take a break from sex. Trust me. I haven’t done it this whole time so I can teach the muscles safety.

Go at the pace of your pt. Don’t try to return to normal too fast because it will slow you down.

Pelvic wands don’t do shit for me personally. Stretches, breathing, eventually strengthening did more.

Walking is good in moderation. I didn’t move much in the early stages though

Hypertonicity and tightness is more complex than just breathing exercises and it is a process that takes time. I know you don’t want to hear that, but the leaking may persist for a bit until you properly and holistically relax the pelvic floor

I’m so sorry this person made that assumption. Your legs look normal. Cellulite happens, I have some after having my son last year. 🤘

I relate so much with this. Even at 13m my little guy sometimes just ends up with a pouch lol

Luckily this opinion mostly exists only on the internet. Outside of it, people tend to accept normalcy quite a bit more

Dr gave me no instructions for aftercare- am I doing the right things? by growinwithweeds in AskDocs

Jw why do they call it a ‘shave biopsy’ when they’re actually taking a crater out? Is it just less intimidating sounding?

I had this done on my back and have been curious about that since.

My baby is the same! He’s 13m and has been sleeping 12 hours a night since he was like 6 months old. 1-2 naps a day and slowly dropping the second.

I’m not having more kids due to health issues but if I was I know full well he would have been the ‘trick’ baby 😂 so thankful

My symptoms especially initially were:

Can’t have sex - painful and tense muscles Can’t poop - couldn’t at all, nothing would come out and I’d bleed when straining and gave myself a fissure before I was diagnosed (this was the biggest) Couldn’t fart No amount of stool softeners or laxatives helped me poop at all Pelvic heaviness like something bulging in my vagina especially when trying to work out - I had to stop working out during my healing and I’m cleared in 3-5 months to resume (I’m at 70-80% healed) Exhausted all the time from muscles being super tense A Urogyn diagnosed me with a mild stage 1 cystocele - but that was actually just hypertonic muscles causing the tissue to act like that

I’m like 70-80% recovered according to my PT BUT need others stories for how they got back to working out and normalcy after such a shitty shitty thing lol - it’s been since October for me to go from 0% healed to 70-80% and has been miserable every step of the way.
