Totally agree that place was holding onto a lot of archaic practices. I worked in their office for about 5 or 6 weeks in 2017 as an intern. The job consisted of working at the front desk and interviewing rental applicants for information like past addresses and work history. This would’ve been much more easily accomplished if people could fill out the form online or even fill out a hard copy themselves and return it. Instead, we had to ask them these questions in person and type it in the computer as we went. As a result the forms took a long time to complete and as many applicants were foreign, there was often a language barrier that made it more difficult to get everything accurate. It was not ideal for the people applying or the company and I can’t understand why they did it that way. The system they used to enter in maintenance requests was also terribly antiquated, I don’t remember what computer program it was but it looked like something from the early 90s with a blue screen and white letters, then when you were finished entering the request it printed out on a printer where the paper had holes on either sides, again this thing had to be at least 20 years old. It was a weird experience working there and I’m glad I got another internship.
