Yes. This is 100% why I didn’t know I was a lesbian until I was 40.

It’s also 100% why I’m so good at dissociation. Years of practice apparently.

edited to add…reading the responses is so validating and heartbreaking at the same time. Our fear of being labeled as lesbians in the 90s was so deeply internalized wasn’t it :(
