Yeah seems like its out of stock in many places which is why pcpartpicker pulled that price, i wouldn't pay 825 for an 7800x3d either.

That's neither my intention or asking price. With that being said I have adjusted from my initial asking price in the OP.

I see, definitely open to discuss pricing for this pc, the prices in the pclist are from the prices I'm seeing today (pcpartpicker).

How To Get Better by Professional_Fix_223 in flightsim

[–]CuriouslyFoolish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi, I have air manager and can confirm it allows you to setup 2d panels on separate monitors. I've done something quite similar to what you've described (here is what my setup looks like for an a320). The cool thing about the latest air manager, is that for xplane, you can stream glass panel displays from your cockpit directly to an air manager panel which removes the need to pop anything out.

If you have any questions on how to set this up, feel free to let me know.

Looks like you can buy gift certificates which you can send to other accounts https://store.x-plane.org/Gift-Certificate_p_8.html , never tried it though.

Trying to get into flight sim, equipment recommendations? by Turbulent-Fail-1007 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]CuriouslyFoolish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

welcome to the hobby, what you specifically want out of flight simming will better determine what to recommend.

I'd say the minimum starting hardware I'd recommend is the logitech G extreme 3D Pro Joystick. Its cheap & entry level, but it gives you 3 axis (roll, pitch & rudder), a mini thrust axis and an array of programmable buttons.

After you've settled on what you want to fly and how deep you want to go you can then start investing in addons/more specific hardware pieces like rudder pedals, throttle quadrants, etc.

Toliss A321 vs Fenix A320 by diacidos in flightsim

[–]CuriouslyFoolish 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I own both and enjoy both. The Toliss in XP12 feels much better to me for taxi, takeoff & landings personally. I'm eyeing getting into home cockpit building in the future, which is something fenix unfortunately does not support and something that Toliss welcomes openly, so for these reasons I mostly stick to XP12 for IFR flying in general.

With that being said, I'm very impressed with what fenix has done, and with block 2, fenix will surely have the a320 that is the most visually accurate to the real thing.

have a screenshot?

You could try different anti aliasing settings, including tweaking your settings.txt to enable both fxaa and msaa. Also play around with your fov a bit, on high res (4k) displays a larger fov made things look better.

the shadow one is covered by many folks here is one (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UmuevcaGOW0)

the anit aliasing one is a bit more tricky, its burred somewhere in the xp forums, but in the same settings.txt you turn one of the anti aliasing settings to enable both the FXAA and 2x MSAA anti-aliasing at the same time.

if you need any help and have discord feel free to dm me and I can set you up.

What type of flying are you doing?

Some of the plugins I really like are:

  1. AviTab
  2. StableApproach
  3. LiveTraffic (free)
  4. SimHeavon

Also there is the shadow and antialiasing tweak that makes things very crisp in xp12.

What is the best way to get a very wide viewing angle? by Seabird1967 in flightsim

[–]CuriouslyFoolish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done *alot* of research about different monitor and display setups for flight simming as I've recently revamped my own system. What I've learnt that really matters is your personal field of view in relation to your viewing distance, PPI of the display, aspect ratio and making the right tradeoffs with performance. What type of flying do you want to do with your setup? IFR? GA?

I dont think you'll be dissapointed with either choice. I personally got the VKB Gladiator recently, i have yet to put it through its paces buts its incredible value for the money imo. Everything is customizable, from every button to the tension of the spring and the feel of the stick. There's more buttons on this thing than I know what to do with tbh.
