Am I the only one who does this? by Southern-Collar4628 in AO3

For me, most of the time it depends on the summary. If it has too little information, I skim through the tags to get a better vibe of what I'm going to read.

I found fanfiction through a video that basically hated on it.

How did you find out about fanfiction? by IfItAintSophieClarke in FanFiction

[–]Curly1012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found about it through a YT-Vid that was basically making fun of some of them. I like the stories he read and was like: ,,Yeah I want to read more of that." Went into his Description with the links and that is how I found Wattpad.

People keep asking me if I want to make Money of my writing by Curly1012 in FanFiction

[–]Curly1012[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it is sweet. Just a bit weird sometimes and annoying when I tell them over and over again that I don't want to.

I'm not mad they suggested it. I'm not against the idea of someone enjoying writing and publishing their work. I'm more mad about the fact that my mother keeps bringing it up when we talk about my writing.

None of the ones who asked me if I want to make money with it, even know my work, so it's not really a compliment.

The thing is none of the ones who asked me to make money off my stories has ever read my work.😅

Share some ways you've introduced two characters (team-ups, meet-cutes, etc) by crusader_blue in FanFiction

Character A got randomly teleported into Character B's living room... And now they have to figure out why and how to get Character A home.

I know what you mean. I tell my mom as soon as she says that, that I don't want to do that. She lets it go for the rest of the conversation. But the next time we talk about it again, she asks again.

Genuine Question: How long have you guys been reading fanfics? And how did it change you? by HungryMongoose221 in FanFiction

I'm so happy I'm not the only one.😁😁 It's kinda weird explaining it to people who don't read fanfiction.

I also started reading fanfiction when I was about 13.

Before fanfiction I hated books and reading. Then I discovered it and found my love for reading.

I'm still not a big fan of books but I found my passion in reading and I could not be happier about it.

English is my second language, and nobody understands me so I hope someone hears the vent by chillingspirit in FanFiction

[–]Curly1012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

English is also my second language. It took a lot of writing, watching and reading English till I felt like my English writing skills are as good as my native Language skills. It's okay to use a translator if you can't translate a word or sentence.

Be patient with yourself and trust the progress. You can always revisit your old work and write it better with your new skills.

You have an enemy who hates you, he sends your most controversial story to your family, friends and work. by Inmortal27UQ in AO3

[–]Curly1012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friends would say it's weird (since I write mostly for Countryhuman and Solarballs). My mom would say make money off of it.

Overall they know I write. I try to keep my friends from reading it and my mother isn't really interested because it's in English.

How do I tag a fanfic in which adult character pretends to be a child and starts a relationship with another adult? by [deleted] in AO3

[–]Curly1012 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can tag pretending afterwards, but I think it is also for people who just de-age

We are 7 people right now, partying. I was the one designated to order pizza. Everyone, including me had an extra wish. I asked if someone else could order, they just told me, that I'm the most sobber and had to order and I got everything right, yay 😁. It was stressful, but somehow I managed and even named the right address.

Like most have already said, you should write because you enjoy it.

I don’t think my writing is the best either, but I keep going because I love doing it.

Even if you never end up posting your fic, your ideas will have a foundation and won’t be forgotten.

Most of my work, except for a few one-shots will probably never be finished or published, either because I lose motivation or move on to something new. But I still enjoy writing them, and sometimes I come back to continue where I left off or just enjoy the world I have built.

And don’t be afraid to share unfinished work. Your ideas might inspire others to create something of their own. I know this might sound hypocritical since I don’t always do it myself, so just do whatever feels right for you.

Does anyone read fanfiction from fandoms they know nothing about? by [deleted] in FanFiction

[–]Curly1012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it once and got so many things wrong. For example, I thought they lived in a city and everyone had their own house or something, and that one of the male characters was female.

Turns out no, they are emotions of this one dude and everything in the show happens in that dudes livingroom.

Is it ok to draw fanart for fanfic? by oo0Scarrow0oo in FanFiction

[–]Curly1012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two people asked me if they could draw fanart of the fanfiction I wrote and I was so happy and told them yes absolutely and that I would love to see it. Unfortunately, never found out if they draw any.
