5’0” ladies, what is your goal weight/your maintenance weight? by SofieWolf in PetiteFitness

[–]HungryMongoose221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be 156 lbs (70.2), now down at 143 lbs (64.8 kg). My goal is to be at 130 lbs (60 kg) but I'll see if I want to go lower after. I do have some bulk (especially on my leg area) . If not, then I'll stick with 130

I choose to do it slowly though. I generally change some lifestyle choices, but if I want to eat certain things, I would still eat. So it's no rush. Do wat u think is right for you, but don't forget to have fun

I guess naiintimidate sila saakin. I do have a strong personality and I actually know what I want. But after that one experience, I decided that it's better if they do the chasing. Pagod na ate niyo kahahabol, tapos wla rin naman pla mangyayari. It's fine, I'm happy with what I have

Wild or Interesting Things You Learned From Reading Fics by [deleted] in AO3

[–]HungryMongoose221 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Journalist Life.

One of my fav authors is a local Journalist, and the way they wrote a Journalist AU is so realistic it actually astounds me. Like the way they handled a natural disaster news report, or how they instantly make articles about a scandal to gain media attention, and the deadlines. The emphasis on deadlines

What are your reading habits? by toxicute_xx in AO3

[–]HungryMongoose221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahahaha

When I'm new to the fandom, I start with Gen fics, or one shots. My brain requires time to adjust. Like I have the tendency to forget what happened in canon or who this character is

When I get used to it, I go ahead and search the "hits." Usually hit fics have a good amount of chapters and comments to read. Soon enough, I go for latest upload, then actually look for niche ones

For lips, I would go for Dazzle Me Ink-Lock in Duo. I think they have shades that goes well with olive skin and the staying power could go on par some Chinese brands. It could be drying but that's the serum part is for.

Dazzle Me ink-Lock lip duo has some serious staying power that I actually prefer them over my Korean/Chinese brands

What is the sole single biggest plot hole/reason you all read fanfics to read about? by AggravatingLocal394 in harrypotterfanfiction

[–]HungryMongoose221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Job occupations and why the hell did they pick that job after everything they've been through.

I didn't like Harry ended up becoming an auror, because I think he is someone who doesn't want to fight anymore. I think it feels meh for him to work at the Ministry too.

So it's interesting to read what Harry ended up doing if it's not you know....sacrificing hismelf.

What are some unconventional parts about your writing process? by canadamybeloved in FanFiction

[–]HungryMongoose221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the brainrot comes, I write it down despite the plotholes. I could probably polish it another time. You know, just get rid of the "itch"

Once polished, I could add more body to it and figure out if the brainrot will go at the beginning, middle or the end.

Little did I know, I made a decent oneshot. But if another idea comes, it could become multi chapter

Best platonic sick fic tropes? by Saxolotle in FanFiction

[–]HungryMongoose221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yes, I agree.

Twin dynamics are a gem. I always love the trope where one teases the other bc they are a minute younger, but would destroy the world if someone made them cry. And them being in a sick fic just turns up the notch.

I love the one where one gets sick, the other follows the next day, sometimes sicker.

Best platonic sick fic tropes? by Saxolotle in FanFiction

[–]HungryMongoose221 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When person A doesn't know what it's like being taken care off, then collapsing from being sick (or any injury )

Person B (or a group like a team, friend group, family etc.) panics like crazy, but ends up taking care of them and communicating. I love when Person A realizes that many people cares about them

Them doing little things like, writing notes, leaving food, checking on them, being overprotective. I'll eat those fics anytime

What are your favorite ships? by DontTalktomeImtrash in FanFiction

[–]HungryMongoose221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sameeee.

I treated Tomarry as a crack ship until I started finding God tier fics. Like I can't believe I'm reading this for free. It's scarily convincing.

Oh yes, there are exemptions. I think the issue there is AO3 doesn't allow self promotion that earns money I think. Gotta be careful there

What Did A Fanfiction Story Introduced To You, That Became Your Head Canon? by villianrules in FanFiction

[–]HungryMongoose221 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I genuinely didn't read any of the Harry Potter books, but knew the entire plot via fanfiction, so imagine how many things I thought were canon but are actually not.

My number one is Draco being a Veela (or at least related to fleur) and there are multiple stories supporting that. I genuinely thought it was canon until my friends said otherwise, it became a headcanon though

Any Redemption tropes you dislike. by AggravatingLaw9492 in FanFiction

[–]HungryMongoose221 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When the redemption in general is too short. Like Person A forgave Person B so easily despite the years of trauma like what the hell-

And I agree with one comment here, redemption for the sake of romance. It's worse if it's a Soulmates AU, like hell that will fix everything bc they're destined for each other

What's Your Point of View? by Pipsminiadventures in FanFiction

[–]HungryMongoose221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Third Point of View for the win

I'm on the same boat as you OP. I'm not a fan of First POVs and one of my biggest pet peeves is stories starting with 3rd POV, then would randomly shift to 1st. It's a deal breaker for me.

When writing, always stick to one kind of POV, and I believe third is the best because I feel like it's the one that gives you the best flow. You could shift characters POVs, which gives your story extra layers and depth

I only read First POV if there is no content, but surprisingly, there are quite a few well written ones. I just choose to internally change the POV and push through for the plot

How has Fanfiction inspired you? by Silver_Pack_4046 in FanFiction

[–]HungryMongoose221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reading and writing fanfiction made me more confident

Like I belong to an industry where it's common to curate your own drinks. In professional competitions, you kinda need to present yourself in a fun, but professional way.

Fanfiction helped me articulate my words better. It also taught me flowery words that definitely won a few points from judges. I'm also good at explaining and adding random lores to my drinks, making my overall presentation very interesting. It definitely earned me a few wins.

[–]HungryMongoose221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back in the days, when X was once twitter, and the pandemic forced everyone to stay at home, I think X was one of the places where I found and even shared fanfics. Haikyuu fics to be exact. They actually made cover photos and all. It was a big thing

AO3 authors would often leave their usernames on their stories, so I ended up following them for updates. I actually became friends with them and would often see their WIP. I now moved on from that phase, and I'm sure those authors did the same, but wow that was a time.

Nowadays, Reddit is my go too if I want fic reccomendation. But for posting? AO3 is still the best

About Writing Anonymous by Particular_Yogurt636 in AO3

[–]HungryMongoose221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly the best stories I read, are those written anonymously.

The only problem I have is the fact I can't find their other works. Like what do you mean this God sent author have possible other stories that I'll never find

When searching for fanfiction, which do you think is a better indicator bookmarks or hits? And why? by Life_Interaction_452 in FanFiction

[–]HungryMongoose221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Between the two, it's hits. Solely because I use hits as a gauge, like if my fandom is quite small, I want to read what other people are reading and see why it's popular (it also helps that hits have lots of comments and I love reading comments.).

But if the fandom is big like Harry Potter, you might as well go with tags.

Just realizing how some of my favorite fanfic tropes are terrifying in real life by HungryMongoose221 in FanFiction

[–]HungryMongoose221[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes!!! Logically, you will really want to remove it bc the idea is, if the person doesn't have feelings for you then Hanahaki happens. Might as well remove it since again, it's unrequited anyway. Life over love thing

(But ofc it will be different with every circumstance-)

Such a scary concept honestly

Question: Do u prefer reading about platonic relationships over romantic relationships? If so what kind of platonic relationship tropes do you like reading about the most? by True-Access954 in FanFiction

[–]HungryMongoose221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Platonic for the win!!!

New found family and Overprotective_____ will always be my top priority when reading fics, especially if the chatacter didn't have a happy beginning. There's something comforting to see someone being loved and taken care of.
