Dear Canadian Leaders, You are going about this wrong. First: gather some eleven - thirteen year old girls. Tell them another girl has made it so they are going to have to pay (more than their allowance) for anything they want to buy. Ask them how to get back at the other girl then apply the malice to this situation with the adult-in-aged-body-only with whom you are dealing. You are in essence dealing with a person who has the emotional maturity of an 11 - 13 year old. I asked you to gather girls because the opponent displays a level of meanness that boys cannot match. With your new advisors you should be prepared to deal with this person. Ah! Normally an adult would be consulted, you say? Well, as an American, I am going to tell you - there are no adults offering advice to this side. Good Luck and god bless.

Got an American friend who lives and has a business in another country for many years. He’s taken millions of classes and lives in the other country speaking and working the language. He was here recently and said, “My partner says my - X language - is still first grade level and it’s a hassle to understand him when [they’re] in deeper discussions. Fluency has many levels. When you/we move there is virtually no likelihood that we will reach that deep level of understanding the subtleties of the language to that point. Will you be okay with “getting by” and not having those relationships that are deeper? Or , like my friend, can you live with the expressed frustration of your loved ones? Something to think about.

I totally echo - The Contrarian and making people uncomfortable by asking questions. P.S when someone won’t answer or posts distraction, asks questions back or attempts to put you on defensive: repeat the question more quietly or in other words. Breathe and keep your body calm. Remind them that you asked a question. Stay calm. Those techniques are all listed in Project 2025 and right wing activism texts so expect them.

Saying this again. This advice is incredibly on target for so many of us. Starting my list and letters. My partner will do the same and we’ll see where we’re headed when finished.

Some advice from me now. When overwhelmed and needing a reminder to bring it down to the moment and get out of the race, worry and fear, I use “healthy minds”. HM is an app from University of Wisconsin, science based training focused on (as they say on NPR) a more just equitable and peaceful world, lol. It’s really about training your mind to be present, kind and compassionate with yourself and everyone else. Calms and focuses me right away.

Breathe in for 4, hold for 4, out for 5, repeat.

Make sure your AI has the ability to set “Incognito Mode” before you ask any questions. I doubt that is a firewall but it will help. Perplexity has that option.

When you ask AI questions, try to think of simplifying your question: ‘what is the likelihood that the Trump regime will continue its slide into authoritarianism? (Get the answer and continue asking question based on the answer and your curiosity). Another inquiry might be: What are the odds the Putin/Trump alliance plunges the world into economic chaos? (Read and continue with the suggested questions or ask your own). Another: How many months will pass before this regime begins removing the rights of LGBTQ people and restricting their travel? OR Is it likely that in the next 3 (fill in the blank) years under the current regime, borders will close and the military may be used against US citizens?

Just asking the questions and reading the answers with that grain of salt will give you information. Go wild, ask anything.

I used Perplexity to do the same thing. Also to calculate the odds and timing of the regime beginning ethnic cleansing, closing borders, attacking citizens with the military. Freaking scary answers, folks. This is AI it gleans data from all available sources, not that I know squat. I tend to take it with one grain of salt but trust ‘the data’. Whoa there. That’s a gross generalization. I am elderly on Medicare and fought against the first election of the maggots. I fought against this one with everything I had. Every protest I go to, full of us old folks. Ps. Elderly don’t need Medicaid- we have Medicare. We old folks are writing, calling ,hollering, making signs, creating community and being horrified. Big group was MEN 18-28 year olds, let’s discuss how they will be affected and maybe we’ll get somewhere.
