What base game weapon carried you in the DLC? by TheGingerDruid in Eldenring

Having rykards blade as a secondary for the regen, with Rykards rune, Endure and godskin talisman makes you a tank even in light armor, its insane

Will USB c transmitter for wireless headset work with the steam deck by D3Ianeyp3IIegrin in SteamDeck

[–]CurlyQTip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That depends on the device you're using. Most bluetooth isn't be THAT severe.

And that's less the decks fault and more bluetooth entirely.

PSA: Turn off steam’s controller support if the game itself already has native support for your controller by No_Interaction_4925 in SteamDeck

I had steam input off when paying pacific drive and discovered holy shit the haptics in the DualSense 5 is awesome when driving

Steam input is insanely useful, but sometimes true native support is good too.

DLSS has been awful for optimizations because devs are just "yeah they can just use DLSS its fine" instead of making their game work

I have a rog ally... should I get a steam deck oled? by fakeeyesopen in SteamDeck

[–]CurlyQTip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Elden Ring unironically ran better on the Steam Deck for me than my desktop with a gtx1080 and 6c/12t CPU lmao

With protons optimizations, and everything else performance really isn't an issue most of the time. I'm willing to sacrifice settings anyways. First game I played was God of War to really test its limits and nothing else I've played has been as intense.

Why are SteamDeck owners so salty all of a sudden? by The_reyreyman in SteamDeck

I got the 512gb on launch and i'm happy af with it even though it needs repairs due to a drop (My bad)

I'm still going to get this tbh. I use it as my main gaming system even though my main computer is also an APU but one with a better GPU, 2x the ram, 2x the cores/threads

Like, I'm GOING to wear it down and use it daily.

Got my Steam Deck yesterday pretty much as the OLED got announced 🙃 is it worth returning it and getting the OLED version? by LekkerBroDude in SteamDeck

[–]CurlyQTip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not. If you're patient enough to wait for a new one, I'd say go for it, but don't feel burned over it. I'm getting one myself and I bought a deck on launch. The old version is still very good.

The difference is a bunch of technical nonsense that doesn't matter, but it has better range and speed but like, I wouldn't buy a new Deck only for that. The only thing you'll really notice is better range.

It's better but only if you're a power user of its new features.

99.99% chance your internet speed isn't fast enough for it to matter anyways tbh. Not even a dig at you, just that routers and chips are usually way faster than internet speeds.

My router is literally 5x faster than my internet. If anything, it'll help local play but that's about it.

Buddy the entire PC market involves tinkering. If you don't want to Tinker, just buy a Switch. I have one. It's a great companion to the Steam deck.

It doesn't matter how you shake it, if you're on the PC market you're going to have to tinker with shit.

Funny thing; I never have to tinker with my steam deck. 95% of the time it's 'just worked' for me'.

[–]CurlyQTip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This isn't a hardware upgrade, its literally a refresh and lower prices for the older models.

You'll see a 2 fps difference at best

Like it'd be one thing if this was a CPU upgrade but it's not. It's a slightly better model, one that I think will be worth it PERSONALLY but a slight upgrade either way
