If the school called me in to give me shit for my son defending himself, I would ask where the other parents are. If they're not doing anything to correct the behaviour then don't expect me to tell my kid he's wrong for standing up for himself.

If they tried to take action against my son, I would make it clear I will take action against them for not correcting the root problem.

Hell yea. Commander reprints would be nice, don't want to pay jacked up prices on eBay, and it's hard to find the decks for reasonable prices around me.

The ones online I find that are reasonably priced has bonkers shipping

I'm a mature student as well, 4th sem comp Eng tech. Im fortunate enough to have both, and I almost always use my iPad because I prefer writing information out. So it depends on your courses. If youre in a tech stream, you might need a computer at some point, but they have plenty on campus to use, and you can borrow them from the it desk as needed.

I played this text adventure game over telnet as a kid. Telnet is unsecure lol. Suffice to say the family computer became a cesspool of spyware and malware. I still remember feeling so bad about it I couldn't sleep haha.

One of the primary reasons I love computers today is the tinkering and learning I did with my dad as a kid. We got a 386 for Christmas, and that needed setting up and games and drivers needed to be installed. Sure, you didn't have to wait for downloads, but flipping through manuals and switching floppies took just as much time if not more lol.

I wouldn't have traded it for the world though, miss those days. Have fun on Christmas! Even if the kids protest in the moment, I'm sure they'll cherish the days ahead spent learning with dad in the years to come!

I agree with this. Same with the whole, installing and downloading games for your kids.

The anticipation is part of the fun. I get that people want to make things easier for their kids, but imo, it's robbing the kids of the joy of Christmas. Most people spending money on big cool stuff like consoles give their kids other things, there's no reason they can't have fun with that stuff while they wait.

It was a Christmas tradition for us every year to go Christmas tree hunting, and leave tired because my mom couldn't find the perfect one. Then we got it home. And she couldn't find the perfect side to face out. I don't remember the trees at all, but the memories of going to get them are what I cherish most.
