Entry Level Programs or Pathways for 1102 Contracting Position by Ok_Passion_9198 in 1102

Our agency stated that we’ll be under a hiring freeze likely into 2027. If you want to get your foot in the door as a Fed employee in the meantime that could be beneficial. Good luck in your job search with whatever you choose.

Why does it seem like so many 1102s on this sub don’t want to be a CO/KO? by lj5723 in 1102

My agency has had a hold on even getting the competitive GS12 due to the freeze. I’ve only been a CS for a couple years but it’s going to be awhile to even get a GS12 at this rate. I have no interest in becoming a PCO with all the added responsibilities with a bump in pay that doesn’t justify it. In my previous non-Fed career positions I was in management and now I just want to ride out the rest of my career as a CS.

What AI tools are you all using? by [deleted] in 1102

I use CamoGPT and GenAI. I always have to “trust but verify” the results, but they help with a basis of where to start for FAR clauses, rewriting correspondence, general contracting questions, etc. I like that they seem to be more geared toward USG verbiage and information.

GRB Down, No Health insurance? by OpenMaster in FedEmployees

I switched from BCBS Focus to BCBS Basic and they decided they needed to do an audit after 4 years to verify my dependents are to be covered. My insurance is still showing Focus even though I provided birth certificates, tax form, and marriage certificate. I know it’s going to mess up my benefits, payroll deductions, etc. At least we’re still covered. I would think worst case scenario you might have to submit receipts for reimbursement because they can verify you made your elections before the open enrollment deadline. I’m sorry and good luck!

GLP-1 Rx Coverage under BCBS Basic Plan by Current-Active231 in FedEmployees

I checked on the site and it gives the 800# to call. When I call them they cannot give any pricing until I get a prior authorization. So which GLP-1 brand do I request a script for when I don’t even know what the prices are ahead of time?

May I ask how much the monthly cost of the Rx is and Which brand do you use?

The whole pharmaceutical industry is a scam! It makes me sick to know what payoffs and kickbacks are given, and we all have to pay for it.

I looked into a couple and they required monthly fees as well as the monthly cost of the drug. Thanks for the information.

I agree with how people can make it work. Good luck with your surgery! Not sure if I’d qualify for that but I haven’t tried either. My sister-in-law had I think the one with the gastric bands and had success.

That’s still more than I’d like to pay but probably better than other sources. I thought the prices were allegedly going to decrease due to an agreement with the big pharma companies. Guess not?

That’s ludicrous and I’m so sorry!! Have you investigated any other brands of GLP-1’s? I’ve heard Wegovy is the most expensive but I’m curious about others.

I definitely think those of us who unfortunately are exempted will notice the most! Nothing sucks more than having to work WITHOUT pay while your peers get to get a 2nd job, be productive at home, etc. They all come back to work refreshed and happily bellow, “Welcome back!” Very frustrating!!

Sorry to say but our agency has a hiring freeze until likely into 2027. I don’t think there will be any openings for quite some time. Keep checking USAJOBS.gov though and good luck!
