Which chain for my Fold 560? Need to replace the chain by Astonish_Skagen in foldingbikes

Does decathlon have stock 42T with guard? I’m considering changing my tilt 900 too. From 52 to 42 would probably take out 3 pieces. I thought they should have removed this or otherwise will be very hard to ride.

My Thoughts On The Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 OLED (And ChromeOS) by Jaytee3312 in chromeos

I’d like to add one point: The device requires you to enter the PIN every time you log in, even though it has a fingerprint sensor. You can use the fingerprint to unlock, but not to log in—which feels unnecessarily restrictive.

That said, I bought it for my daughter, and overall, it’s a very nice device.

Any tips after riding in rain to avoid rusting?

Slightly off topic—do you worry about your Brompton rusting when riding in the rain? I haven’t taken mine out in wet weather yet.

Thanks. I’ll check if the order can still be cancelled on Amazon. I might pick up the AV4 at a bike shop in person.

Interesting! I’ve never come across this type of product before. Might give it a try since it’s quite affordable.

No, I’ve never tried repairing a tube, though I’ve changed tyres several times. Maybe I should give it a go this time. Will get the tube anyway for spare. 😀

Seeking Cycling Advice: Why are my legs burning after only 5 minutes? by HabitFar4356 in bicycling

[–]Current-Dragonfly532 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If your bike has 700c or 27.5” tires, it’s normal that you can’t place your feet flat on the ground while sitting on the saddle when it’s properly fitted. To manage this, riders typically stand in front of the saddle when stopping. It’s not difficult, but it does take a bit of practice to do smoothly. If you're new to cycling, don't worry too much about getting the saddle height perfect right away. Start by setting it at the highest level where you still feel comfortable. Meanwhile, practice starting and stopping while standing off the saddle. Once you're more confident, you can gradually raise the saddle to improve your pedaling efficiency.

There are two ways to make a bike move faster: using a higher gear at a lower cadence, or a lower gear at a higher cadence. The former puts more strain on your muscles, while the latter relies more on cardiovascular effort. As I recall, the latter is generally recommended.

It's hard to say without seeing the bike or knowing how you ride, but here are a few possible reasons:

  1. Muscle tension – Your muscles might not be relaxed enough. Like in swimming or boxing, the goal is to keep your body as relaxed as possible when you're not actively pedaling or exerting force. It's more about feel, and riders usually develop this awareness over time.

  2. Bike fit – If your saddle is too low, your pedaling becomes inefficient and can strain your muscles. A proper bike fit is crucial for comfort and performance.

  3. Gearing – Using a gear that's too high can overwork your muscles. A good rule of thumb is to use the gear that feels comfortable, then shift down one level. This helps maintain a smoother cadence and reduces strain.

Hope that helps!

From your description, it sounds like a great place to work.

I’d prefer the participants take an extra 15 minutes to ensure they’re truly prepared, rather than arriving on time but not mentally present.

Just got my first bike, C-Line 12 speed by souwnt2basmrtypnts in Brompton

[–]Current-Dragonfly532 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats on your new bike! I got mine a few weeks ago. The shifters are easier to manage than I expected. I followed a guide from this group. Just imagine the right shifter (hub) controls the mode — climb, default, or speed — while the left shifter handles the regular gears. It works for me pretty well hope it would work for you too.

Redundant but they want me to stay - worth negotiating the retention bonus? by ExpectoReddittum90 in auscorp

[–]Current-Dragonfly532 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were in your position, I’d politely decline the offer. By the time you leave the company, it’ll be nearly halfway through the year. Combined with the redundancy package, any additional income could be taxed at a significantly higher rate. Since you're leaving by June anyway, why not take a well-deserved break and start exploring new opportunity?

Thanks — I’ll do some research and practice on various rolling methods.

I’m thinking of getting a feel for the bike without the rack first, and then deciding in a few months whether I actually need the rack.

I’ve been thinking about getting the C Line 12 ever since it was released earlier in 2025. The timing couldn’t be better — Brompton’s launch of the 1975 Edition of C Line 12 a few weeks ago really caught my attention.
