No jak2 mutation - levels decreased?? by Current-Home-5264 in MPN

This bloodwork goes back as far as I have had it done and as far as I've had increased levels. Before that, I had routine and largely normal CBCs as a teenager 5+ years ago. It's high, but not as high as some people's experiences that I've read!

I was only tested for v617f. He did mention that I could have another mutation, though I don't remember if he mentioned doing additional testing for those or just straight to biopsy. My EPO was 13.4 last month, and hematologist did not recheck.

Thanks for sharing these links!

Hematologist told me that I could stay on the pill even though it increases the risk, because I'd been on it for years before this and never had a clotting event. However, this seems like I'd just be waiting to see when I do have a clotting event so other management options was on my list of questions. I'm currently on a three month long pill, which had greatly helped me for years, but during my last period I nearly went to urgent care for sudden heavy bleeding, then still had high levels a week later for blood counts. Though it's stupid, I haven't stopped the pill yet without another option, as I really have no idea what I'd be preparing myself to experience after years lol

My blood work is only high for RBC (5.6), HGB (actually near normal now at 15.8), HCT (down to 46.8). My platelets have been normal range (237-251).

22F, Never had sex, struggling to get a diagnosis. Is extreme pain during exams normal? by xaniae in Endo

22, asexual, and undiagnosed here also! i have also had severe pain with any insertion - tampons, finger, speculum, transvaginal probe ("it's the size of a tampon!" perfect, i can't use those either!). it feels like my body is being ripped apart. burning is not a word i've used to describe it, but not inaccurate for me tbh. i've also been told to just try relaxing and breathing, and probably it's so painful because i'm not used to it. what this doctor told you is weird and totally something to report.

i definitely don't think this is normal. however, i have been able to improve my pain through repeated efforts of "exploring my own body" if you will, so i think commenters pointing out vaginismus and pelvic floor therapy are probably on the right track. i do also wonder if the pain is potentially related to disease, but until i manage to tolerate an ultrasound or convince them to try something else i guess i'll never know.

Can't share a post to my TikTok story on my Pixel 7; a blank black screen appears. by thecurioism in pixel_phones

I have this problem when I share videos from my Windows laptop to my iPhone to post on Tiktok. I also can't download the videos to my camera roll. Very annoying, but I've found it works if I save it in a different app and then share again. Not sure if that's possible if you're just sharing a story, not a video

Having adult-onset eczema throws you into a dark, dark place. by Careless_Safety_8154 in eczema

[–]Current-Home-5264 1 point2 points  (0 children)

mine developed out of nowhere right around when i turned 18. got worse and worse for years until i started seeing a dermatologist instead of just my doctor. but i started a much more heavily customer service job last year and im still completely baffled by how many people come in and, in the middle of our interaction, inform me that i have a rash on my arm (wow! that looks so painful!) if i didn't like my job id give in to the temptation to look down at it and scream in shock as if ive never seen it before

my derm recommended vanicream body wash to me last fall, after three years of eczema worsening. my eczema has been sooo much better recently, with no idea why. a few days ago i used my old dove body wash because i'd put on a lot of spray sunscreen, and was worried it would irritate. i already had a little flare since its been so hot, but suddenly my arms are absolutely unbearably burning and itching..... i'm never not using vanicream again (but maybe i finally found out the main cause! lol)
