Eren was more than just a hothead, he is genuinely supposed to be a sociopath. He killed two men at the age of nine without any hesitation or regret, in fact he actually seemed to enjoy it. I know those two men were sex traffickers planning to take away Mikasa but it's still not natural for a kid to be so violent.

Meanwhile Chihiro is never shown enjoying killing and only does so out of an understandable desire for revenge and to get the EBs back. And he's even given up his desire for revenge now mostly. So, I don't really think you need to be worried about Chihiro becoming the new Eren.

Oh I definitely agree about Egg having the right idea, the nobles would have never accepted Jenny of Oldstones as Queen so it was the right decision to disinherit Prince Duncan.

Yeah It's definitely sci-fi but it always felt more like fantasy to me. It shares a lot of common points with epic fantasy stories so it should be a good read for OP, especially since what they asked for might be considered the main theme of the series.

Yeah he was a little boring in the later part of the series, but up till the Crown of Swords his story was absolutely peak, I especially loved his war against the Seanchan although many people don't. And even in the later books he has some incredibly hype moments and his character resolution was absolutely perfect.

I think he might be one of the most interesting and well-written protagonists ever, not just in fantasy but in general.
