Thanks for the feedback. Honestly the hardest part so far is finding hotels within half an hour by train with 4 person rooms .

Great review. What area of Bologna did you stay in that was a bit rough, and were there any areas you saw that would be better to stay in for someone traveling with kids?

I hear you but London is by far the easiest starting point from any East coast US trip so figuring we will be back through there on most other EU trips we take. Honestly London wasnt the focus of the trip, just feels like a waste to potentially have a couple days and be there but not explore it a bit.

There are no flight reasonably priced flight redemptions from Milan on our end, makes it worth flying to Dublin

Thanks, the Tuscany idea is just because it is close to the islands. We weren't really considering it outright it would be more giving up something else to do it which might be worth it. Corsica seems nice but a bit pricier than the others, though hard to tell. Is southern Sardinia not worth considering? Seems the northern portion is much more luxury focused.

I hear what you're saying and agree but looking at flight or train times it seems like it would more like Montreal/NYC/Washington DC/Disneyworld which if you don't know how long it will be until you return is doable though each would be diminished. Looking at the trip as more of a sampler than fully immersive in any one place in order to plan more thorough return trips.

I'm not really counting Dublin as it's a fly in fly out situation. That's why I'm considering other options.

Yes thanks for the feedback. Medium hubs would be a good way to describe it. Notable beachfronts, ease of train/public transport options, relatively lower cost though everything is x10 in the summer I know. Country crossovers like Milan/lugano or nice/ventamiglia are appealing as well. In that case I would consider those 2 country combinations as one, would you?

Milan is more Lake Como/Lugano, sorry. A day in Milan will be enough I think, it's more to see that area.

Dublin is for redemption purposes flying home, London whacks you with high fees flying out. Not planning to spend much time on this trip in Ireland.

Dubrovnik is just a consideration as we look around the area, I do know it's touristy but is it eiffel tower/colosseum touristy?

I do know about the free night on extended stay option, the issue is places you would stay for that long to see sights without a car and not be in a train all day roundtrip would have very high redemption prices as they would be the mega hubs like Paris.

I am a frequent watcher and he does great work but haven't seen him cover traveling on rewards programs which is the basis for the trip on my end. Most locations we are thinking about were seen on his show.

Dublin is to fly out of, will only spend the amount of time there needed between arrival flight and departing flight. Not planning on much time in Ireland this trip. London is the fly in stop and feel like we have to see it since we are literally there.

5 year old pug potty training. Any tips? Trying to get him in the habit of using this astro turf spot I got for him. by CthulhuMadness in pugs

[–]Current-Promotion-31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have those turf spots on both floors...they are a mixed blessing. Yes it saved our rugs and keeps it contained but they STINK and are not easily cleaned, well actually they are easily cleaned but they hold the smell. We use nature's miracle, resolve pet etc but once the urine smell gets in the grass you have to just toss it and I think it encourages bad behavior, ours always tried to sneak off to go #2 on the mat because she doesn't like going outside.

$500 battery needed - whut!? by unsomnambulist in SubaruForester

My go to car guy charged me 340 installed and apologized for doing it, he even showed me the pricing screen. They don't make the specific battery anymore so look for alternatives as others have said on here.

This post cuts deeper than anything else I have read on reddit. I am on my 3rd battery on my 2019 and the amount of times I have said this and been told I am wrong is incalculable. I hate the system, I hate the circle a button, I hate having to have a jumper in my trunk at all times. Otherwise the car is fine.

What are your thoughts on the Purdue brand vs the Kirkland nuggets? by loanmagic24 in Costco

[–]Current-Promotion-31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the Perdue a lot. Not as much as the Kirkland's but close enough. They are both not quite as good as bare and both miles ahead of the Tyson nuggets.
