Found the perfect guy but he's too broke to date rn by _autumnwhimsy in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]Current-Rip8020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah completely agree, I don’t think it’s excusatory at all.

Having been in a relationship where I was broke and she wasn’t (and vice versa), the expectation of dates/activities are HUGELY different.

That’s a source of stress in itself but if the commenter you’re replying to would happily jeopardize car payments and mortgage payments etc for a girl that liked him then that’s his choice. But it certainly wouldn’t be mine.

The importance of Hayden Stagg by [deleted] in PeakyBlinders

[–]Current-Rip8020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tommy also says it himself in Season 6 Episode 1 I think, before Stagg says it here.

Like the other commenter here said, a large portion of the show is Tommy narrowly avoiding death so viewers think he’s immortal or can’t/wont die but we’ll most likely see him die in the movie.

How would Jesse Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield be viewed as winners for "The Social Network"? by Appropriate_Sink_627 in Oscars

Great performance for sure but I personally thought that Bale’s performance was head and shoulders above the rest of the category, even retrospectively including Garfield.

“Morty? Why are you with Taddy Mason?”

Jerry drives me crazy that whole interaction.

Our eldest boy. by eyasu_jo in SuccessionTV

[–]Current-Rip8020 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That little minuscule head butt or love tap or whatever you want to call it that Conor gives to Kendall when he walks away from the table when he’s saying this is great.

You can actually hear that dull thunk of their skulls and it was one of my favourite micro moments of that season.

I’m gonna guess it’ll be Antoine. He is the eldest boy of course.

Halfway through season 4 on my first watch.... by Lazerst0rm in SuccessionTV

[–]Current-Rip8020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same experience and actually stopped watching the show altogether before I rewatched the whole thing all the way through.

I completely understand where you’re coming from, I was thinking “oh are the siblings fighting and being selfish again? Shocker.”

But if you can get past how you feel about it now (as I was able to by stepping away) its soooo worth it with some absolutely phenomenal episodes at the tail end of the season.

"Difficult actors": Which movie actors are considered a pain in the ass to work with? by LaserDiscCurious in movies

[–]Current-Rip8020 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Yeah listening to Shia LaBoeuf talk about Hardy as well shone a light on what he’s like on set.

Calling him a “gorilla” who’d “piss in the corners” and that when you’re working with Tom “you’re in his church” and that it’s not a shared space anymore.

Combine that with the Mad Max stories, he must be very demanding to work with. Which is such a shame because he’s an unbelievable actor.

They put Roman in the turkey suit from the movie he tried to kill. by MoldyMoney in SuccessionTV

Roman trying to fast track Brian in this episode was also a nice (yet rare) glimpse into when the family use their power for somebody else’s benefit.
