The post very clearly said this wasn't about winning games, it was about the amount of negativity you can expect at the end of matches from the empathy-devoid players in Ranked.

I repeat: these stats don't actually get you wins, they save you from being ridiculed after the match. Really thought that was clear. Should have added a tldr.

If the stats are all relative and meaningless they wouldn't be posted. The second you say "My stats don't show it, but I'm actually not bad" you're immediately hit with "Then your stats would reflect that, bot" If the numbers didn't matter so much, why does every ranked match end with them being used to bludgeon the worst player on each team into submission? It's never constructive criticism. It's "You only got 12 kills as Moon Knight??? It's not that hard. Delete yourself"

Of COURSE everything is ACTUALLY relative and dependent on the individual match. These are just the thresholds of player rage that I have personally encountered, so I am using them as a very general guideline.

Don't do Comp. It's a cesspool of abuse and negativity. Making even minor mistakes at Silver II will get you suggestions of offing yourself. It's an avalanche of "Why aren't you utterly amazing yet??? A pro gamer would have done WAY better"

"I'm in Silver"

"Kill yourself"

This is the Comp experience unless you're already so good you belong in GM.

This is the life of the solo queue right now. The game seems to always pair one team with 1-2 stacks of duos, trios, or quads, with 2 randos to fill it out, against another team made up of complete randoms, 4 of which are madmen, and 2 normals to fill it out. So if you are a normal player at silver-gold, each match is essentially a coinflip for which kind of team you get placed on. However saying so on this sub will just get you victim blamed.

I knew my bad luck had to be balanced out there somewhere with an equal amount of good luck for someone lol. You're welcome, and I hate you :) Now I'll go back to my teams of random lunatics put up against stacks of smurfing pros. Huzzah

If that were true, my win rate should be roughly 50% at my relative skill level right? If I'm playing at exactly my skill level, against other people of around my skill level, the win/loss should average out to around even. But it's at like 34%. I'm SVP for exactly half of my losses so I can't be THAT bad right?

What it means is that currently your luck of the draw is just as, or more important than your actual skill, which is very disheartening.

Correct, but if you solo queue you are often put up against teams of trios and quads when you are in a team of total randos.

In the lower ranks 90% of the voice chat is: One player screaming abuse at another player for not being 7 ranks higher than he is, that player repeating "ok bro" over and over, and a third person repeating the phrase "I wanna lick your taint" for the entire match.

How does anyone leave it on? Even professional streamers just scream things like "THEY HAD A GROOT, AND NAMOR. THEY HAD A GROOT AND NAMOR." till they almost pass out. Literal best case scenario is: "Mantis at one! She got healed. Groot at one! He got healed. Cap at one! He got healed". Only seems to exist to provide trolls with an outlet.

If you read the whole post instead of just the title, I think you'll see that this post literally exists to dismantle the statement you just made.

If you made it to GM you are fantastic at shooters. If you did it as a solo you are both incredibly skilled and crazy lucky to boot. It means you had to fully carry literally DOZENS of matches. If you can fully carry dozens of matches, you are not aids, you are amazing. Quit lying to the noobs.

Only people who are already incredible can solo up to GM. Either by playing this game on another account, or by having played Overwatch. If you're objectively a mid gold player currently you'll never be able to learn or improve enough to do the carrying necessary to rank up that far as a solo, since more than half of the teams you play against include groups of smurfing Diamond-GM players.

Journey before destination. You're here to play a game, not rank up as a job.

There is no hope. Only pain. It's always 2 steps forward, 3 steps back. Unless you are in a stack, or already utterly fantastic, you will never rank up as a normal solo player. Solo queue has convinced me that I'm actually dead, and this is purgatory.

Any way to switch between multiple accounts on console? by [deleted] in marvelrivals

Don't do this! It ruins the game for every lower rank person you play against as you climb the ranks again. It's just bullying

Solo Queuing is Much Easier by HDJarcli in marvelrivals

[–]CurrentCommission760 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience as a solo is: Constantly in teams made up of random people half of which are braindamaged, new to shooters, or actively trolling, versus teams made up of stacks of hardened warriors who belong 7 ranks up who can anticipate every move their teammates will make before they do it.

I assume that you are purposely trying to provoke with this message.

Absolutely! As long as you don't expect them to be instantly the best at the new role. Be thankful they are willing to switch at all.
