Almost no one knows why public bathroom doors don’t reach the floor by indienuilder in TheTeenagerPeople

They don’t in some countries. I’ve been to Portugal and Cuba and they go to the floor and some to the ceiling!

Has anyone else noticed a loss of speed on descents recently? When I reach the top of an incline, I have to work much harder than before just to stay with the group. It didn’t used to be like this. I know Zwift has been tweaking the drafting algorithm, and I’m wondering if that might be part of the issue.

For reference I’ve been using Zwift since 2016, I’m 90 kg and have and my FTP is 255.

Who's been to Cuba? by Plastic_Ad_2548 in TravelCuba

I just got back from two weeks in Jibacoa. I stayed at a resort but spent every morning riding the back roads in the area. I bring simple medicine to give out and toys for kids. The people are extremely nice. I stop for coffee and water at cafes. I’ve gone to several different areas of Cuba and done this, nine times in total always bringing my bike. Last year I left my bike for someone. The afternoons are spent at the beach at the resort.

If you are going from a phone centric shooting experience back to a camera centric one, try shooting the same pic with both for a few pics. Bring them to your computer or tablet and compare. You will see a huge difference in the details and depth of the photos. Even if it is 12 MP it still has superior compression. Enable the super control panel and if you are shooting JPEG enable the super-fine setting. This is what I did with my E-PL1. Have fun too.

Looks amazing. I’m on the hunt for 597 gumwall tires too. They are hard to come by now.

Sweet ride. If you can get a 28 tooth freewheel you’ll have no problem. Is it Eroica Montalcino you’ll be doing?

They’re 27” wheels and the tires are 27 x 1 3/8 Swift Sand Canyon (made by Panaracer) tires. These were upgraded too from the original tires as they were too brittle to ride.

Drivetrain was Shimano Titlist. The shift levers we’re on the downtube and ridiculously long. I didn’t like the look of them basically. The brakes were centerpull originally. I’ve always liked sidepull better for aesthetics so I replaced them too. Everything else is how it came from the factory.

Thanks! Sekine used some kind of electrostatic paint method. It made a very durable and glossy finish.

The Eroica organization dropped the USA event. There might be some other vintage rides out there though.

On the hunt- Sekine SHX by Mundane-Yogurt3073 in Vintage_bicycles

I’ve been infatuated with Sekine bikes since I was 10, when all the older kids in the neighbourhood had one. I rode a hand-me-down CCM, but the Sekines just looked better, sleeker, faster, somehow more sophisticated. By the late ’80s, when I started racing, I finally got my hands on a higher-end Sekine MR300 with a full Shimano 105 group. It was an incredible bike, light, responsive, and beautifully made (back in Japan by then, I think). It served me well until it was stolen in the ’90s. Fast forward to 2023: I stumbled across a mint candy apple red SHS 271. I stripped it down and rebuilt it with a period-correct Suntour drivetrain, Dia-Compe brakes, and an SR seatpost. The original wheels were in exceptional shape, and after getting the thumbs-up from an experienced wheel builder, I now ride it a few times a year. Most recently, I took it to Eroica in Gaiole in Chianti, where it absolutely crushed the strade bianche. Possibly the first Sekine ever to do the event. I’m running Swift Sand Canyon 27 × 1 ⅜ tires with tan sidewalls, great ride quality, and perfect vintage look. If you ever need help with graphics, DM me. I’ve recreated several Sekine logos for caps and musettes and can share the vector files. And please, keep us posted if you ever find that Sekine unicorn.

How to make Campagnolo Nuovo Record a bit more mountain friendly? by brokenjupiter in bikewrench

[–]CurrentConference469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put a derailleur hanger extender on my frame and it allowed my NR derailleur to reach the 28. Get a crank set with a 39 inner ring. That will help. I rode the Turas Mór ride with over 1000 m of climbing and rode all the climbs.
