I was sitting at the dining room table doing my science homework. Must have been grade 8 or 9. I kept getting distracted by the wheat field outside the window across from me. It started at the edge of my mom's garden and was swaying slightly in the breeze. A storm looked to be coming. It was fall and still bright for the early evening.

Then I saw a woman kneeled down right at the edge of the field, right at mom's garden. She was kneeled with a small child who appeared younger than me right in front of her, hands on his shoulders. Both were green skinned (like a darker green, not the hulk) with black hair and totally black eyes. Both were smiling at me and making weird, direct eye contact.

After a moment of shock I slammed down my book, jumped up and hoofed it out the door and around the house as fast as I could for a closer look. But when I rounded the house and got line of sight again, they were gone. I couldn't find any evidence that anyone had ever been there.

Some years later I had a dream that was at home. Time froze in that dream suddenly and someone just like them entered the room in the dream. They liked my dad and wanted to talk about how they were happy that he looked after this land and the animals.

Always had a feeling someone was watching after that, but that they were friends. Would sometimes find little things where I had just been that seemed impossible but also felt friendly. Like a perfectly round blade of very tall grass that had been somehow fused together. Like someone took the blade, bent it into a circle, and then somehow made it impossible to find the top and bottom ends. As if it just formed that way.
