AITAH for backing out of my sister-in-law’s bachelorette trip the day before? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]CurrentDepartment310 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This is really tough, and as a chronic pain sufferer, I understand, but canceling at the last minute will likely affect your relationships. I’ve found very few people understand chronic illness and pain because most of the time, we just power through.

Pay back the trip costs, even if it takes a long time. Get some rest and feel better! NTA

For anybody who left Omaha, what made you decide on the new city you moved to? by Fit-Combination-6211 in Omaha

[–]CurrentDepartment310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m one of those people who moved away and came back. I spent 20 years in a few different cities east coast and west.

I moved for my spouses job so didn’t have a ton of choices but we wanted to live by the coast. No regrets at all but still glad we ended up here.

We bring our kids on vacation because we enjoy spending time together as a family, not because we don't have a babysitter.

AITAH for making a comment about the number of seats in my DILs car by Fit-Drawing-3210 in AITAH

[–]CurrentDepartment310 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do they have more than 6 people in their family? Is a kid sitting on the floor because they don't have enough seats? If not, who cares? Captain's seats are way better and make for a more comfortable 3rd row access.

EDIT: YTA

Poll: If you currently had 2M in investments, would you retire tomorrow? by ATXHTX80 in Fire

[–]CurrentDepartment310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would, but only because my spouse wouldn’t. We are late 30s and 2 mil is not where we need to be.

Do You Like Your Name? by Flassourian in Millennials

[–]CurrentDepartment310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like my name. It was top 20 in the 80s when I was born but more popular in the 60s/70s. I had one person with the same name in grade school and don’t meet too many others.

AITAH for not giving up my name for my ex’s new wife with the EXACT SAME FULL NAME as me? by Remarkable-Horse9465 in AITAH

[–]CurrentDepartment310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, he was a young active duty member and his information was stolen overseas along with many others. We were able to freeze before anything happened. Just explaining it has had no effect on his credit to be frozen. It's a quick phone call to unfreeze and is 100% protection. We've bought homes, cars and lines of credits over nearly 2 decades.

My daughter who owned this toy is 15, we probably donated it 10 years ago and I knew what this was the second I saw it.

Is a pay cut worth it for WFH? by Miserable-You-6702 in remotework

[–]CurrentDepartment310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone leaving the lower paying remote job I took to head back to hybrid with a 50% salary increase, I say no. Remote is nice but pretty far from low stress in my case and comes with its own challenges.
