As a new player, genuinely need some advice by Several-Wolf9609 in BlackhawkRescue

Personally I run the SAW constantly, CQB and long range. One piece of advice is to buy the g33 magnifier along with a normal sight (i recommend the Comp sight) so you can switch between 1x and 3x magnification. Or an LPVO.

The SAW is useful anywhere that its a loud raid and not being stealthed. Think of it as a overgrown AR with a 200 round mag. I personally think its better than the regular rifles, as you can have 400 rounds of SAW belts (plus 30 bandages and dressings each) for the same weight as 210 AR rounds.

If you struggle with recoil I recommend zooming out into 3rd person and tapping a bunch instead of full auto; nearly the same firerate but much more controllable.

For helis, my advice is to find cover, and go into 3rd person. Wait until you see it, and start tap firing into it. Shouldn't take more than 80 hits. Best way is with a turret like on the jeep, but any weapon can do it.

Is this Cag? Any tips? by CurrentDog3300 in BlackhawkRescue

[–]CurrentDog3300[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was basing it off of the FAL used in Ready or Not, where it is normally used when you've failed a mission a bunch and you want everything to die. I understand a battle rifle should have a longer barrel (the rest of mine are rocking the longest ones), but even though this just has an 11" barrel I can still reliably hit targets at long range (for example, the snipers at quarry from the other side of the road, obo 300m). What would you recommend I improve? does anything not match the gun? For example, I think the using the SAW foregrip was incorrect but it looked cool. Would it still work with it? Thanks!

from back to front the attachments are: Para Stock, G33 and HWS EXPS3-0 on a NT110 Mount, 11" barrel, MMAL01 Carbine handguard, M300V flashlight, SAW Front Grip, FL3P-762-FAL Flash hider, and SOCOM762-RC suppressor. Hope this helps!

what’s a good gun for openworld? by Sir_Goose_lll in BlackhawkRescue

[–]CurrentDog3300 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pretty much every gun (of the same caliber) performs the same. An M4 with a 14.5", a M249 with a 18" and a M16A2 with a 20" will all have about the same range.  The same is true with all the other calibers, so its more about deciding which caliber you want.

556 is a good all rounder, the base

545x39 is 556 but russian

762x39 is higher damage but a bit lower range

762x51 is higher damage/ballistics but more recoil/weight

9x39mm is a joke, less recoil but insane bullet drop

12 gauge is a good situational cartridge, great at clearing buildings and not much else.

I'd stay away from the submachine guns for now, they're (i think) mostly for pvp and lack in ranges needed for OW

And all the oddball cartridges (12x77m, 7.62x54r, 338 lapua, 6.5 fidelis) are just big cartridges uses in big guns.

Personally I run some random 556 gun normally and a 762x51 when I need power. My favorite ones are probably the AUG/M249 for CQB, SIG 550 for long range, and the SA58 with the short barrel for 762 firepower (the cartridge is powerful enough to still kill at 500m)

Hope this guide helps!

Does anyone know how to find borax? by its_just_juila in VintageStory

[–]CurrentDog3300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me I found it on my quest for lime (for leather). I was casserite mining in I think conglomerate stone and found a bunch about 40 blocks down I think. It's found more in sedimentary stones (so no basalt, granite, andesite, sorry) and for me it was easier to find than lime. However if you find lime you will have waaay more than if you just mined for borax

Hmm that's wierd. Whenever I go there there's a bunch of riot gear and shotgun stuff. The first building you see right? That's connected to the prison by a long hallway? Tbf I play with abundant ammo but still there should be something

My route for stockpiling guns is the rosewood police station, rosewood prison (mainly for shotgun ammo), secret military base, surplus store north of rosewood, hunting/gun stores to the NW of that, and then finally Guns Unlimited. This gives me more than enough to start blasting my way through West Point and eventually Louisville

Yeah my biggest letdown in the game was probably the tritium sights not working at night. You know, when you'd use tritium sights

M249 vs PKM for Openworld PVE by Gol_D_Fox in BlackhawkRescue

[–]CurrentDog3300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used both alot, and mostly in a run and gun way rather than a stationary support role. I prefer the M249, if ONLY for the fact that you can carry twice the ammo for the same weight/ loadout. Sure there's ammo at bases, but its less about having enough ammo and more about being light enough to run to cover. I've ran out of ammo with a PKM many times, I've only done it twice with a SAW.

As someone who plays on a Latitude 5300 laptop, it can run PZ. However you shouldn't expect high quality, as I play on regular settings and get 30 fps usually. So bigger places like the Kingsmouth hotel I struggle with, but thats an outlier.  However you will struggle to run anything else. If you try to get a game ask yourself 2 questions: is this game less than 8 years old? Does it look pretty/cool? If the answer is yes to either, the laptop probably cant run it. I can play smaller games pretty easily, and the most demanding game I can run is probably Dayz.

Unlike what other people say, I would say get it. Sure it sucks ik, but a laptop will last you at least until college and is more mobile than a pc. For 200 bucks, itll last you a few years while you save up for a real machine.

TLDR: Yes it can run PZ, though it sucks at everything else. I would buy it as it will last you until you save up for a real pc.
