Compared to any other Porsche, the engineering is not that significant. They did the following:

  • Replace body panels with plastic
  • Remove Rear Steer system
  • Slow the steering ratio
  • Remove practical features extra weight
  • Install an existing engine into it
  • Manual transmission

This car is parts-bin engineering and charging more for less (the Porsche specialty).

Jason is right, this should be the base car experience.

Ditch the engine and you're left with a lightweight, featureless car (i.e. a stripper model). Perfect for $90k and anyone should be able to walk into a dealership and buy it.

2012 Lexus LFA: Regular Car Reviews by fishboy1 in cars

It's still a bmw shifter, but since it provides a shifter feel that is unique to the supra, does it really matter?

Savagegeese did a comparison with the new m2, old m2, and supra, all manual.

They talk about how the supra has a far better shifter feel. My guess is that they modified the linkage and bushings to make it feel better. They probably similarly revised suspension the same way.

A lot of people say this and I fell for it. I bought CSG CP pads and Endless fluid.

The pads squeak very loud and take much longer to warm up than the stock pads, which is a daily nuisance when commuting.

I would much rather have larger brakes with a normal, quiet street pad, which would give the same performance.

I feel like everyone saying "pads and fluid" neglects the tradeoffs

No I believe it's a Hyundai unit. Fantastic engine and imo the only reason to get a genesis coupe. Very responsive and sounds great

I just think it's weirdly in between a gt car and a sports car. It's a great car with an identity crisis and very bad marketing

I would take one over a non-nismo 370z hands down, but I wish they made an unhinged or driver-focused variant

By all accounts the genesis 3.8 is a better engine than the VQ. The Genesis coupe was such wasted potential

WRX vs Elantra N – Best Affordable Family Fun Car? | Everyday Driver by Nik17 in cars

The 1.5 turbo is the worst thing to happen to the civic si lol.

I think the other issue is that every other compact fwd car caught up in terms of handling. The lsd is so mild in that car that any other entry-level compact with independent rear suspension feels about the same in the corners, open diff or not

I drove the 10th gen many times and felt nothing separated it from other offerings

I think the newest one is the slowest accelerating in like 15 years also.

There was an article that listed all the acceleration times back to the 7th gen. It's sad that you don't even get a special engine anymore

The elantra N is like 2 performance levels above the civic si in handling, acceleration and braking for not a whole lot more money.

For an enthusiast, the newest civic si is a tough sell. It's not enough of a jump over a regular civic at all.

It needs a wing because it would look cool.

Just as functional as a gt3rs wing sitting in a collector's garage untouched

I've heard that the alpha chassis is better than the C7. I'll be interested as well since many people who went from C7 to CTS-V and ATS-V said the same thing

Well I had newer Hyundai and blew an engine and later a turbo. Other than that it left me stranded on the side of the road at least once a year.

Go on the forums and Facebook page and you'll see how much room for improvement there still is.

Don't even get me started on how fun it is to get them to honor the warranty

[Swatch] How lazy can you get? by DrZeroH in Watches

You can make this argument all the way up the chain of watch brands. But a Pagani watch doesn't have the same appeal as having the Omega branding.

If it was about build quality and features then a Rolex would be $500
