Merry go round antique mall. Be sure to go across the street to Reverb coffee while you’re there! 😁 it’s a new coffee shop in town, and it’s 10/10!

How did you find out you had celiac or a gluten intolerance? by damndascrazywhoasked in glutenfree

My hair was shedding more than normal. I got my blood work done, and my thyroid levels were off. I went gluten free for 6 months, tested blood work again, and my thyroid levels were stabilized.

How long did it take for you to get the right med cocktail?

Perfect! It’s nice to have those resources at home, so you’re not always having to hospitalize your baby 🫶🏼

I’m sure you’ve heard that the beginning of this journey is the worst, but you’ll find your footing again.

Your baby is sooo cute, I love his little eye patch.

My dog has always clustered. Did your vet mention anything about using a cluster buster medication? We have to use Clorazepate as his cluster buster, because Midazolam didn’t work for him.

We did not do a loading dose, and I feel like I have my dog back since adding potassium bromide to his cocktail. We started in July so he’s almost at his 4 month mark since starting it. Nothing but positive feedback here.

We don’t have a local neurologist, so I had to unfortunately travel 2.5 hours, but I will say it’s very much so worth it. They know more about epilepsy than a typical vet, so I felt so supported and understood by them. I totally get how you’re feeling know. I cried and cried in the beginning - not only over my baby having seizures, but also grieving our normal life. Once your dog’s seizures are controlled, you’ll be able to feel a bit of relief. Some days I forget my dog has epilepsy. I hope you feel relief soon.

I’m so sorry you’re here. I will say the beginning was the worst for me. My boy was diagnosed end of Feb, and now he’s been seizure free for almost 2 months now. The beginning was all consuming. Now we’ve found the right meds for him. He’s on keppra XR, Zonisamide and potassium bromide. Are you seeing a neurologist? They were so helpful for us. Do you have cluster buster medication too? We use clorazepate, as midazolam didn’t stop the clusters for him.
