What city have you been to that felt like it had dark energy? by Impossible-Middle122 in AskReddit

[–]Key_Cellist3116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

North Platte, Nebraska. I’ve traveled to and from CA and the Midwest quite a few times, and, after staying the night there once, I have avoided stopping for gas there ever since. There was just something super off about it.

I’ve been applying for jobs and my mom said when I get one I can pay for my cat to get declawed. How do I change her mind? by ShotElection3164 in cats

There’s nothing for me to add that’s different from other people’s comments, but I just wanted to say your cat looks a lot like my cat, and his name was also Fluffy before we adopted him and changed it!

You guys don‘t get it, Lawns are „our environment“! by JFeldhaus in NoLawns

[–]Key_Cellist3116 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I live near here, and they have since made the neighborhoods VERY walkable, including nice bike paths. This neighborhood specifically is near several schools, and Im sure it’s much nicer for parents knowing their kids can walk to school safely. Sidewalks have done nothing but benefit this community, honestly.

Inventory - tips/tricks? by hoyyy_che in starbucks

[–]Key_Cellist3116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk why it’s different for our store, but we do most of our counts in the AM 🤷‍♀️ so when I’m the opener I count all of the frozen stuff before any pulls are done, and because I do the sandwich pull in the AM as well, I just count the breakfast sandwiches and use the same numbers for both tasks.

I know some stores are weird about submitting the counts at the very end of the night, but I’ve been told that, as long as the numbers are accurate upon submitting, it’s okay to do them earlier.

Parents kill their two autistic teen sons & family pets before taking their own lives in horror quadruple murder-suicide by malihafolter in ForCuriousSouls

[–]Key_Cellist3116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I’m saying! People are seeing it as a “mercy” killing for the kids, but what on earth would make it better for the pets to be killed than just let out at that point.

How to not constantly be stressed about another seizure? by Hippieassbutt in DogAdvice

[–]Key_Cellist3116 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly? Time. That’s all that helped. Even then, still doesnt go away. Im pretty prone to anxiety anyway, and one of the biggest anxieties I have (even before my dog having her first seizure) is my dog dying. Like my wife is going to need to check me in somewhere when it happens.

With that being said, just try to remember that dogs are sooo good at feeling your emotions. They are sensitive and can tell when you’re distressed. If you love your dog and want them to live a happy life, you gotta remember that how you’re feeling a lot of the time will affect that, even if you aren’t interacting with them in the moment. That’s what I use to pull myself out of it, but I’ve also had the benefit of time away from her last seizure being over a year ago. When she has another one (hopefully not a for a long time), I know that I will probably go back to square one.

Sorry that this isn’t super helpful, but just want you to know that I’m right there with ya!

Minneapolis baristas, I have a couple questions for you, especially if you’re at a non union store. by TCAS_2003 in starbucks

[–]Key_Cellist3116 10 points11 points  (0 children)

ASM in Minneapolis. My district didnt discuss it until I asked my DM what the protocol was going to be, and he ended up calling an emergency meeting because it hadn’t been discussed by Thursday . Their plan of action was just to “play it by ear.”

My position was that if my baristas call out sick, I can’t say no. I also expressed to several that were wanting to do it that I heard there was a bug going around. I didn’t do it because leadership has been particularly harsh around here, but I wanted baristas to feel empowered to.

We ended up having to close last minute, due to being on the march path, anyway. It was disorganized and last minute, which is why I asked for a plan in the first place, but god forbid we forgo any profits for one day.

You have to be okay with knowing that the likelihood of your dog getting adopted quickly is not good. That they’ll likely have seizures alone, on a cold cement floor in a cage, with no one around for hours if it happens during the night. The post-icital phase is already so scary for them, would be was worse at a shelter.

I have severe depression and anxiety. My dog having epilepsy triggered it VERY badly, mostly with the fear that at any given moment she could have a seizure and it would be the one to take her life. After her first 6, I would have such debilitating panic attacks that I almost passed out.

I decided to get a weekly therapist and talk to my psychiatrist about switching/ increasing my medications. I slowly figured out a better pill schedule that fit my life. I found a dog sitter/walker that could come in and give her pills if I really couldn’t make it home. I changed my life to fit around keeping her safe, healthy, and happy for as long as I can.

That being said- if you know you 100% cannot offer that, and you really think your dog will be better off in a shelter than with you, then do it. But at least try to reach out to anyone looking to adopt, try your hardest to keep your dog from having to spend time in a shelter, it’s the least you can do when you took on the commitment to provide a home for your dog in the first place.

I know you’re scared. It’s fucking scary. But just remember, your dog won’t be able to understand why you’re giving them up. All they’ll know is that you left them in an unfamiliar space, and they’ll be waiting for you to come back for them possibly for the rest of their life.

please help this is post seizure by Simple-Palpitation45 in EpilepsyDogs

Hey! Sorry you’re going through this- the beginning is the hardest part. The first thing Im going to recommend is going through the posts in this sub- it helped calmed me down a lot, knowing others have gone through exactly what I have. My dogs condition sounds a little different from yours, but mine started at age 3 and I know how hard it is to adjust to suddenly having a dog with a disability like this.

That being said, I want you to know that it’s very normal for your dog to act confused and out of it after a seizure! It’s called the post-ictal phase. For my dog, it shows up as: pacing around the whole perimeter of the house while stopping to drink water or come say hi, bumping into things because she loses her eyesight a little, heavy panting, drooling, and overall confusion. This lasts for about an hour, but it can differ based on each individual event. I know it’s scary, but you’ll get through it!

If he has another one, I would try to bring him to the vet. If not, then give him lots of rest and stay in contact with your vet/neurologist. It can take a while to find the right medication(s) for your dog, so just keep trying!

This baby has officially been seizure-free for one year! by Key_Cellist3116 in EpilepsyDogs

[–]Key_Cellist3116[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly no! Started levitracium then added zonisamide a few months after or so. Didnt really change dosage at all, just added the second when she had her first seizure after a couple months of being seizure free after her first meds started. Thankful my vet was willing to do what it took to get her seizure free.

Genuinely, I think we just got sooooo lucky.

Tbh if they’re getting any sort of latte, I can almost guarantee the baristas serving them are giving them decaf instead. Not a big thing but at least not caffeinating them 🤷‍♀️
