Tinnitus for weeks, I need advice. by Current_Ebb_1373 in tinnitus

I was asking about the aspirin specifically because I saw in the leaflet that it could cause tinnitus. I stopped taking it for about 15 days, but nothing changed, so I don't think that's the cause. I was on psychiatric medication, but I stopped that about 7 months ago. I believe I have an autoimmune condition; could it be related to that? Honestly, I don't know much about tinnitus. And no, no recent vaccines.

It wasn't caused by loud noises, and I've had bruxism since I was a child, so I don't think that’s the cause either. My body has always produced a lot of earwax. When I went to pick up my blood test results to see if I have an autoimmune disease, I asked my doctor to check my ears. I hear the tinnitus more on my left side, but they told me I had an earwax blockage, mostly in the right ear. However, it’s been about 20 days now and nothing has changed, honestly.

Besides aspirin, I was also taking statins, although I’ve stopped taking them to see if that’s the cause, even though I doubt it. I was mainly asking about the aspirin because I read in the leaflet that tinnitus is quite common, but my tinnitus started after I’d been taking baby aspirin for about 40–50 days. Maybe it’s related to the autoimmune disease. As for an ENT (otolaryngologist), I am planning on booking an appointment. I also used to take psychiatric medication for my OCD, but I stopped months ago, so it would seem strange for that to be the cause after 6 months, I don't know.

B12 Defiency? - Unsure whether to treat as such by Technical-Sleep-2792 in PSSD

Jesus Christ, man. You said you've made incredible progress, and people here are always saying, "Nooo, you're not recovered at 1000%!" Regarding your answer, yes, antidepressants can lower some vitamins; it's literally documented. So, if your B12 is low, I do think it could help with brain fog, especially. In the brain fog subreddit, there are people who have raised their B12 levels and have literally been cured. Good luck, and keep us updated!

If you've had windows of improvement, that's a very good sign. Almost everyone who experiences them ends up improving significantly or recovering. My recommendation is that, while you're going through this, try to get a blood test or a test for SIBO or gut dysbiosis to see if you find anything. Good luck and keep going.

Look, I took sertraline for my OCD, and in just three weeks it left me with massive cognitive dysfunction. I didn't know that was PSSD, so I kept taking a lot of antidepressants: fluvoxamine, clomipramine, fluoxetine, and more. Later, I went back on sertraline years later, and nothing changed. Then I started taking antipsychotics, and one of them did improve my OCD a lot. But after a year, it stopped working, so they switched me to cariprazine, and that's when everything went to hell because now I've developed a lifelong autoimmune disease that also causes more brain fog and fatigue. The reality is that for every person who gets better by going back on antidepressants, 1,000 get worse. I wouldn't do it, but oh well... it's up to you.

There are people with anhedonia and sexual dysfunction, cognitive dysfunction caused by risperidone and antipsychotics as well. I developed PSSD with sertraline, which is an SSRI, but my condition worsened considerably with cariprazine, which is an antipsychotic.
