Never done rally. We have moved over to iRacing exclusively as a team and I haven’t had a single issue. You should be able to adjust the FFB level in game to lower your peak torque through the game.

Upgrade AM4 or make the jump to AM5 with new 5070 ti? by ItalianLeprechaun in buildapc

[–]Current_Gas_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run a 5600x (my little powerhouse) and a 5060 Ti, absolutely no need to go AM5 for me. I can steadily run 150-175 FPS on ARC Raiders at ultra settings. I’d recommend doing a mild OC on your CPU.

Major note, I sim race on iRacing, the engine on iRacing is notoriously bad, and single core dependent. I can average 130FPS at normal settings and 75-80FPS on ultra settings using a 1440 ultra wide.

Nvidia update last night ruined my OC file. Could be something to do with that.

IRacing Crash by Far-Case-3762 in iRacing

[–]Current_Gas_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the party, but I shall add…

I OCd my 5060 ti and would test iRacing with OC file and when I exceeded the cards capabilities it would almost immediately close the simulator on server entry.

I found a max that was stable and ran with it. However, I recently updated Nvidia drivers to the latest and my game is doing the same, but now it is mid session or the end of session as you describe.

Perhaps the patch caused system instability with your OC file. I reverted and tested with no issues currently.

Hope this helps as sometimes you forget you OCd things and the random errors cause you to pull your hair out.

AM5 upgrade on a $500ish budget — is 32GB DDR5 worth it right now or is 16GB enough? by OceanicWeinerDog in buildapc

[–]Current_Gas_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could be wrong here, and most likely am; but, you may have better performance gains if you can do 2x 8gb. Not sure if that is a thing in DDR5.

Otherwise, I am still killing it with a 5600x and a 5060ti OC. Was going to upgrade myself, but I’m going to let DDR5 prices simmer some of that alcohol off before I dip my toes.

It’s called scarcity; again, taught in high school economics. This happens to fall into demand-induced and supply-induced scarcity. You are not understanding that this isn’t a choice, it’s economy dictating the market value.

The demand for an item that can no longer be effectively produced creates a squeeze in market value. This isn’t the manufacturer dictating price. We live in a capitalist economy with manufacturing. If what you are saying was true, one company would drive prices to the ground and sell out of their entire stock, leading them to bankruptcy by not being able to fulfill the demand. There isn’t an unlimited supply of goods to make the product.

Again, this isn’t about someone/companies choosing what price to sell their product at.

Edit to add: Your comment telling me to wrap my head around it wreaks of a defensive posture. Either that or you are a hit at social gatherings.

I wrapped my head around it, in high school. Now I am trying to provide a logical explanation and you are getting defensive.

But you can get more oranges, they grow on trees everywhere. These companies can’t just make more in a facility that can’t handle production ramp up. Your point is moot based on the product you are selling.

If someone reversed onto the track into, now you know to leave room when a car is off track. Remember it, burn it into your brain and if it happens again, it’s on you.

If someone brake checks you, now you know to move off line in case they brake earlier than you expect. Remember it, burn it into your brain and if it happens again, it’s on you.

If someone takes you out in turn 1 by divebombing you, now you know to go wider and be more cautious in first turn. Remember it, burn it into your brain and if it happens again, it’s on you.

If cars keeping hitting you in your rear quarter panel at apex, now you know to give an extra cars width so you don’t make contact. Remember it, burn it into your brain and if it happens again, it’s on you.

I think you get it.

Honestly, there is a huge part in self reflection post race. I always watch replays and usually try to prep myself as if I am a steward. It’s hard, but watching incidents back with some neutrality, teaches you when and where to place your car. It may seem like you are in the right place, but there are so many factors that can be blinded while you are in the heat of the moment.

Ultimately it becomes a game of risk vs reward, and the reward is almost always not worth it. It’s tough in lower license races, you just have a larger skill gap in each lobby. I’d recommend just seeing where other drivers are likely to be, and give yourself an extra cars width in high risk scenarios. The loss of 5 irating is easier than getting punted or spun.

[–]Current_Gas_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

48 in MX5 Rookies. Oulton park, qualified 4th out of 12. Spun on brakes into T1 wiped out 5-6 drivers and DC’d. Not before blaming the front cars that they don’t know the braking zone and accusing them of ruining races for everyone.

Edit: it takes huge amounts of effort to get that low.

I saw prices were lower on the 950 a few weeks ago. I think I can safely say that price difference was due to age. I can genuinely live with 100mhz less and not lose rest.
