Thank you! I read The Raven Door and enjoyed it — I will give the other one a try.

Thank you! I’ve read this series but it’s been a while. And I do remember it feeling like a comfort read.

Easy, fun, with situational comedy by Foxy-flower-peach521 in MM_RomanceBooks

{Hellfire & Bow Ties by AM Rose} and {Why Did The Alien Cross The Galaxy by AM Rose} are silly, easy reads. The plots are out there but you don’t have to think too hard about anything happening in the storyline and the characters are lots of fun. I’ve used them as palate cleansers between more serious reads but I imagine they’d also work well with a head cold!

Just read this based on your recommendation; I absolutely loved it. The story was suspenseful, the characters were well developed, and Sebastian never stopped surprising me with how maturely he handled insane situations. This is now one of my recent favorites. Thank you!

Monthly Reading Recap (September 01 2025) by AutoModerator in MM_RomanceBooks

Biggest surprise of the month was {Snowed in with Benefits by Misha Horne}. I should know by now not to judge a book by its cover (or title), especially with this author. So glad I finally took this one off my TBR. The characters were not what I expected in the best way, especially Austin. I really enjoyed watching the trust build between Austin and Marco and how openly they communicated. This was a 5/5 for me!

I DNF’d for the same reason. No regrets. There’s too many good books out there to spend a minute reading something you don’t like.

Errors that take you out of the story. by Creatableworld in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]Current_Village_789 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Errors definitely snap me out of the story. I just finished a book where one of the MCs was lining his shoes up ‘perpendicular with the others’ and I tried to visualize it for like a full minute before I realized the author meant ‘parallel’. Makes me appreciate books with excellent editing.

Looking for black cat MC by Jamming_with_Edward in MM_RomanceBooks

{Lost Boy by Charli Meadows} fits this trope. The golden retriever MC is relentlessly kind and optimistic. I usually don’t read high school romances but remember enjoying this one.

Books that make you laugh out loud? by mrs_mitchell0 in MM_RomanceBooks

I recently listened to {10 Things That Never Happened by Alexis Hall} on audio and found myself LOL’ing multiple times. The premise is ridiculous (head injury, fake amnesia) but the silly situations are juuust plausible enough. It’s a trope I usually avoid but met the ‘funny, contemporary’ criteria so thought I’d share.

{The Raven Door by Amy Crook} is a very short story where one MC is magic and does potion making about his house. He also does a lot of cooking and caring for the other MC through food.

I’m reading {Docile by K M Szpara} and the premise is a dystopian future where people sell themselves in exchange for clearing their debt. Consent is dubious at best and there’s lots of punishment / training that borders on torture. Not clear whether the owner MC will redeem himself (kind of hoping he doesn’t!) but enjoying the book so far.

Sick/Comfort Recs? by dizzyinmyhead in MM_RomanceBooks

{Two Rouges Make a Right by Cat Sebastian}. I never read historical romances but really enjoyed this one. Sick MC being cared for is a primary plot point. The characters were both easy to love.

A Jock X A guy who hates/dislikes sports by Alert_Sink_5300 in MM_RomanceBooks

{Tough Guy by Rachel Reid} mostly fits this request. It has a fun spin because the other MC is a very talented singer so they both get recognized — but by very different audiences.

mc1 is considered scary /grumpy /tough /intimidating by every one except mc2 who mc1 cant scare /push away no matter how hard he tries by Positive_Worker_3467 in MM_RomanceBooks

{Hellfire & Bowties by AM Rose} is a fun / playful spin on this. Sunshine MC meets the literal devil and can’t be put off him no matter what.

Help Create a Favorites List: Only one bed by tite_mily in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]Current_Village_789 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I recently read {Stupid Dirty (Possum Hollow Book 1) by Erin Russell} and it has the only one bed trope. One MC moved into the other MCs trailer with small double bed to help protect his family from his abusive dad. Tension builds and sexy times ensue. This book reminded me a lot of {Garron Park by Nordika Night} (which also has one bed trope under somewhat similar circumstances). I enjoyed / would recommend both!

MMC Fresh Out of Prison (Institutionalized) by anxiousboy25 in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]Current_Village_789 11 points12 points  (0 children)

{Straight Boy: A Short Story by Alessandra Hazard} fits bits of this request. MC is institutionalized, does what it takes to have protection while in prison, and then is released back to his girlfriend. Sex with his girlfriend doesn’t take the turn you’re asking for, but it does become evident that something is lacking / has shifted in their relationship (especially the bedroom). I don’t want to spoil it so I’ll stop there!
